"FAVORITES '25" Deer Hill Student Art Exhibit: Hosted and presented by Ms. Berman, each student has chosen his/her favorite artwork of the year to be included in this exhibit. The gala opening reception will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2024, from 7-8:30pm. We will also be celebrating the grand unveiling of a very special 5th grade clay tile art installation. There will be refreshments and music. All are invited to attend. You won't want to miss it!

Deer Hill's Class Placement Process: Deer Hill's class placement process for entering grade 4 and grade 5 students has informally begun. More formal planning will begin after break where staff will have multiple meetings spanning several days to build thoughtful class cohorts. Please see this placement letter (updated from last year) which outlines our process in greater detail, including the role of families.

Grade 5 Transition to Cohasset Middle School: Recently grade 5 families received a letter from John Mills, principal of Cohasset Middle School, that details important dates as students make the transition to 6th grade. Here is a copy of that letter for your reference.

A Night of Hoops with the Wizards: Thank you to the many PSO volunteers who made this such a fabulous event! Thank you also to our Dream Team of Deer Hill and Osgood staff, our talented National Anthem singer, Ms. Flynn, and our very own Mrs. Clark who was the best deer mascot ever (no, it's not a moose!) Mosaic 2025: On Thursday, many families and school clubs came together to celebrate the cultures and heritages of our Cohasset community. There was dancing, food, crafts, and an impressive student store of products designed, produced, and marketed by CMS students. In it's three year tradition, Mosaic has gotten bigger and better each year!

CPS Purposeful Play & Risk Challenge CPS Purposeful Play & Risk Challenge

Each month Superintendent Shannon includes a suggestion for purposeful play and developmentally appropriate risk. Below is our new April challenge!

Keeping up with our Anxious Generation purposeful play and responsible risk taking challenges, I am inviting you to join in on our April activities. This month, our challenges are:

Purposeful Play Challenge

Let's get creative this month! With April vacation around the corner, many families will have some downtime to fill. Ask your children to invent a new game and then play it with them!

Responsible Risk Taking Challenge

This month is all about learning to use a new tool! Help your children learn to use a hammer, screwdriver, whittling knife, or saw. Build a birdhouse together, whittle a stick, or build a plant box (and then plant something). The level at which you provide independence for your child on this project should be adapted given their age and ability.
