October 2, 2025
The Dawg Dispatch is our weekly snapshot of life as a Bulldawg, straight facts, clear wins, and what’s next, so families and staff can pull in the same direction. It reflects our mission: “The mission of the Aberdeen School District is to inspire ALL students to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and productive members of society.”

Reading That Shows Up: 377,072 Words Last Week
Just Mercy Theme Poster Competition
Ms. Price and Dr. Hooper’s English III classes recently held a Just Mercy Theme Poster Competition! Students, with the support of Dr. Hooper, selected powerful themes from the novel and brought them to life through creative and thought-provoking poster boards.
We are so proud of their insight, creativity, and ability to connect literature to real-world issues.
🎨➕ Hands-on learning in Mrs. Bell’s class!
Students used manipulatives to solve missing addends/number bonds, then showed off their artistic side after listening to a story about an artist.
A perfect mix of math + creativity!
Real-Life Lesson in Health Class
BSMS Garden Club
Ms. Nichols’ students took on the “Drunk Goggles Challenge,” attempting everyday tasks with vision and balance impaired. At first it seemed funny, but the goggles showed just how dangerous alcohol’s effects really are.
The takeaway: alcohol abuse impacts judgment, coordination, and safety. Powerful lesson, well learned!
Remembering 9/11 Through Poetry 🇺🇸🕊️
This project gave students an opportunity to honor the lives lost, reflect on the resilience of our nation, and express their thoughts through creative writing.
We are proud of their thoughtful work in commemorating this important day in history.
Kindergarten Hard at Work 🖍️📚
Our kindergarten students in Mrs. Williamson’s and Mrs. Dyess’s classes have been working hard and learning new skills every day! From hands-on activities to focused practice, these young learners are showing that it’s never too early to build great habits for success.
We’re so proud of their effort and determination, keep up the great work, Bulldawgs!
Dining Etiquette in Action 🍽️
Ms. Oliver’s Nutrition and Wellness students stepped into the world of dining etiquette and table setting, learning practical skills they can carry into real-life occasions. From setting a table correctly to folding fancy napkins with style, the class added an elegant touch to their lesson. To keep things fun, students also designed creative memes highlighting dining dos and don’ts in a humorous way.
A special thank you to Mrs. Latasha Hubbard for letting us borrow her napkins to make the lesson complete!
Jeopardy Review - Learning In Action
Mr. Pearson's class took learning to the next level with a Jeopardy Review Game to prepare for the 9 Weeks Exam on 9/30! Students answered in true Jeopardy style, in the form of a question, while racing against other groups.
This exciting review focused on Simplifying, Solving, and Evaluating Expressions and Multi-Step Equations. What a fun and engaging way to learn math!

🎓 Wednesdays Are for College Pride!
Every Wednesday, we encourage students and staff to wear college shirts! Why? Because seeing those college names and logos reminds our students that higher education is possible for them, whether it’s a school close to home or one across the country. It’s a simple way to spark conversations, plant dreams, and keep students motivated toward their future goals. Let’s show them that the road to college starts right here in Bulldawg Country!
