Carusi Student Council Hosts Fall Festival
Carusi Middle School's Student Council hosted our Fall Festival! Students danced the night away, shared laughs with friends, and enjoyed a festive evening before heading into Thanksgiving Break. The event was made even more special with the support of our dedicated teachers and the PTA, who provided delicious snacks to keep everyone energized. A huge shoutout to our resident DJ, Mr. Hunt, for keeping the vibe alive with an awesome playlist. And a big thank you to Ms. Murt, our Student Council advisor, who worked tirelessly with her students to plan and organize this amazing event. It was a night filled with fun, music, and school spirit!
Carusi Student Exemplifies Mustang Spirit with a Unique Act of Kindness
At Carusi Middle School, Mustang pride isn’t just about academic achievement or athletic success—it’s about character, kindness, and lending a hand when someone needs it. One student, Amar'e recently demonstrated all of these qualities when he went above and beyond to help a friend in need. When a classmate’s bookbag unexpectedly broke, the student didn’t hesitate. Instead of brushing it off or waiting for someone else to step in, he took action—literally. In an inspiring display of resourcefulness and compassion, he offered to fix the bag himself. What truly impressed everyone was how he did it: with needle and thread, hand-sewing the torn strap back into place. Hand-sewing may be considered a “lost art” by many, but this student’s skill and calm confidence proved otherwise. Under the guidance of Assistant Principal Smith and Mrs. Spencer, he carefully stitched the bag back together, turning a frustrating situation into a heartwarming moment of friendship and teamwork. “It was incredible to see two friends come together like that,” said Ms. Smith. “Not only did he show kindness, but he also reminded us of the importance of practical skills like sewing—something we don’t see every day.”This small but meaningful act of kindness didn’t go unnoticed. It highlighted the Mustang spirit that Carusi Middle School values: helping others, showing empathy, and using one’s talents for good. In a world where it’s easy to overlook the small gestures, this student’s actions stand as a reminder that sometimes, the simplest acts of kindness can leave the biggest impact. Carusi is proud to have students like him, who lead by example and show what it truly means to be a Mustang.
Classroom Highlight - Miss Levine's Social Studies Class
For the past 5 weeks in Miss Levine's Social Studies class, students have been tasked during the first three minutes of class with writing down at least three things they are thankful for. It is important for students to not only learn the curriculum, but to make sure that they are happy and healthy as well! On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, each student was given a paper plate and was told to write their name on the plate. Then, each student went around and wrote one compliment or one thing they were thankful for about that student. The students were super excited to see what was written about them. Happy Thanksgiving!
Carusi Teacher's Celebrate Friendsgiving
Our amazing teachers gathered to celebrate Friendsgiving—a festive lunchtime tradition where everyone shared their favorite dishes and spent quality time together. From savory classics to sweet treats, it was a joyful feast filled with laughter, gratitude, and delicious food!
