Title I Annual Meeting and Harvest Dinner, 10/17
Thank You!
Our Title I Annual Meeting and Harvest Dinner was a wonderful night. Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope to carry this tradition in the years to come. Students had the opportunity to prepare a dinner item using goodies from our Cornucopia school garden with their teacher. I want to thank each staff member for their help to make this night possible! People helped create so many wonderful choices to add to the Harvest Dinner, gathered preparations for setup and decorations, and cleaned up! I also want to thank Cornucopia for their contributions to our dinner, they sent in additional veggies to create the Harvest Dinner, and we are so very grateful!
I also want to give a huge thank you to Brittany Johnson and Tanisha Lowell for donating raffle baskets for the evening! We were also very appreciative of all of the donations brought by various families who contributed things like cups, plates, napkins, soda, juice boxes, ice cream and other ingredients that made the night such a successful event! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Student Halloween Costume Guidance 🎃:
🎃 Keep it Spooky, Not Scary: Avoid costumes with weapons, violence, or bloody images. It's okay to look "spooky," but nothing too gruesome.
👁️ Masks and Makeup: Masks that cover the eyes and face are fine, as long as your child can see clearly. Please keep makeup minimal and apply it at home. Remember, learning is still happening, so your student will need to remove their mask during class.
🧥 Safe Costumes: Make sure your student's costume doesn’t have anything hanging below the wrist or ankle to avoid tripping or getting things caught during our parade in town.
🎒 No Need for Props: If your child has props, they should should stay at home for our party and parade day.
🚫 No Weapons: Please make sure there are no toy weapons in the costume.
🏃 PE-Friendly Costumes: Students have Physical Education on the 31st, so please pick a costume that’s safe and easy to move in.

Golden Spoon Weekly Winners:
Congratulations to our Golden Spoon luncheon winners for the week ending on 10.18.24! Every week, students who demonstrate expectated behaviors in the lunchroom from Monday to Thursday are invited to a special lunch on the stage and receive a golden spoon as the invitation, for doing the right thing at lunch through the week.
Expected behaviors in the lunchroom:
- Raise a quiet hand to get up or get something
- Keep a low level voice, not yelling
- When a teacher says, "Show 5", students stop talking, focus attention on the teacher, and put a high five in the air to show they are listening to directions
- Sit at the table to eat lunch and have a safe body at the table
These are the expected behaviors that will earn students a golden spoon invitation to a decorated table on the stage on Fridays. A different teacher will sign up to host the luncheon each Friday. We hope all students will attend the Golden Spoon Luncheon!
TIGER Theater at Pierce School, 10/16/24
Emmy award winning TIGER performed at Pierce School for grades K-4 on Wednesday, 10/16. Students were able to see this performance which has captivated over 550,000 students throughout New England. TIGER has also performed at the state level for the New Hampshire Department of Education, regionally for the New England Theatre Conference (NETC), nationally for the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE), and internationally for the National Drama International Conference at Durham University in Durham, England, the ASSITEJ International Festival of Children’s Theatre in Cairo, Egypt, and the IDA World Congress in Paris, France.
Some of our students were invited up onto their stage area with the TIGERs as they acted, sang and danced about the importance of kindness. Bursting with examples of kindness based on children's writings and stories, this production lifted our student's spirits and taught something too. Kindness Counts encouraged our students to think about how they act toward others, encouraging them to make kindness count every day!

Pierce School Holiday Craft Fair
If you are interested in having a table at the Craft Fair this year, please reach out to either Tanisha Lowell or Alisha Hansen-Proulx and we can get you on the list as a vendor. It's a great fundraiser for our school, with lots of traffic coming through, and a food court!
This year, we are hoping this will also serve as our Ribbon Cutting Event for the new Pierce School Playground being installed, too! Everyone is welcome, come get some holiday festivus!
