Next week, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week with fun dress-up days to promote making healthy and positive choices. We encourage all students to join in the spirit!

🍬 Trick-or-Treat Lane – Candy Donations Needed
Our annual Trick-or-Treat Lane is just around the corner, and our students are thrilled! To make this event a success, we are kindly asking for candy donations. Any contributions can be dropped off in the front office. Thank you for helping us create a fun and memorable experience for our children!

🚒 Safety Presentation
We are excited to welcome our local Fire Department and police department to our campus. Students will learn more about safety, community helpers, and making smart decisions. This is always a highlight for our campus!

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make these traditions special for our students. We are grateful for our amazing Jensen community!

🌟 Discovery Lab Spotlight!

Under the direction of Mrs. Tello, our students have been exploring, growing, and building in the Discovery Lab! From hands-on activities to exciting STEM challenges, students are expanding their curiosity and creativity each day.

Our kids love their time in the Discovery Lab, where they have the opportunity to think critically, collaborate, and discover new ideas through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We are so proud of the innovative learning happening in this space!

Our students are staying active, creative, and mindful across campus!

PE Highlights: Students are enjoying group volleyball, working together, practicing teamwork, and building coordination.

Music Class: Students are exploring xylophones, learning how to read music, and expressing themselves through rhythm and melody.

Counseling Lessons: In counseling, students are learning how to set personal goals, reflect on their progress, and build skills for success both in school and in life.

We are so proud of the growth happening every day—our students are learning, creating, and leading!

Families, we are excited to announce that Halloween Picture Day is right around the corner! Since students will already be dressed up in their costumes, this is the perfect time to capture those fun, festive memories.

Bonus! If your child has a sibling on our campus, they will have the opportunity to take a Halloween photo together as well.

Don’t miss out on this great chance to remember the magic of the season—more details will be sent home soon!

Jensen families, get ready, our Family Picnics are right around the corner! We are sharing the dates early so you can plan ahead, and we truly hope to see lots of our amazing parents joining us for this special time together.

This is one of our favorite traditions, and we can’t wait to welcome you onto campus to enjoy lunch, laughs, and memories with your student!

Please Note:
For safety and supervision reasons, students will only be allowed to eat during their designated date and time. Parents will not be able to sign out or eat with other siblings during picnic times. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our routines running smoothly.

Please note that students with an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE may not make up missed work; however, if the unexcused absence is determined to be caused by an extenuating circumstance, makeup work may be allowed. The grade for the makeup work will be no higher than a 70. We need students to be in class daily. We do not want them to miss out on any assignments.

Dear Parents,

Please review the following rules with your children to ensure a safe and positive environment for all students. Students will receive consequences for inappropriate behavior.

Additionally, large instruments will not be permitted on the bus. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up these items on campus.

Students must be dropped off at Jensen by 7:30. Students cannot be dropped off at Garza Elementary. Thank you.

Dear Parents,

We want to remind you that our teachers’ primary focus during the school day is teaching and supporting students. For this reason, teachers will only be responding to Remind messages or returning phone calls during their designated conference times.

We truly value your input and want to assist you as necessary. However, our focus during the school day is on our students, and after school, we respect that teachers also need their personal and family time. For this reason, teachers will not respond to Remind messages after 4:15 p.m.

Thank you for your understanding and for partnering with us to ensure the best for our students.

Pre-Kinder: 1:00-1:45

Kinder: 8:00-8:45

1st grade: 8:45-9:30

2nd grade: 9:30-10:15

3rd grade: 10:15-11:00

4th grade:1:00-1:45

6th grade: 1:45-2:30

5th grade: 2:30-3:15

Start time: 7:30

Dismissal: 3:30

Breakfast: 7:30

Instruction: 8:00

Tardy: 8:05

The gate on 5 mile will open at 7:15 and close at 7:45 for all students.

The bus circle will only be accessible to PK-2nd-grade students and their siblings after 7:30 (once bus students have been dropped off). This drop-off area will also close at 7:45.

After 7:45, students will have to be dropped off at the front door.

Dress Code Reminder

To keep our campus safe and focused on learning, we ask that all students follow our dress code:

• Shorts must be no more than 4 inches above the knee

• Leggings are not allowed as outerwear

• Hair must be a natural hair color

• Crop tops are not permitted

• Acrylic Nails and Makeup are not allowed.

Please note that consequences will be given for violations of the dress code.

We appreciate your support in helping students come to school ready to learn!

2. Click the "Log In" button.
3. Click the "Sign Up Today!" button.
4. Enter school code 74228 and click “Next” followed by “Confirm”.
5. Complete the “User Profile” box, check “I accept the Terms of Use Agreement” and click “Submit”.
6. Under “My Students,” click “Add.” Enter your child’s last name and student ID number (To find
your student's ID number please contact your student's school.)
If you receive the message ”Could Not Add Student”, re-enter the student info. If the student is still not
entered, please send a message to: HCTB@sharylandisd.org
7. Once you confirm your information, you’re ready to begin using Here Comes the Bus.
