Unforgettable Spirit Week ๐พ ๐ ๐
We just wrapped up an absolutely incredible week, and our Bulldogs completely outdid themselves with school pride, creativity, and unity! From the themed dress-up days to our high-energy traditions, our students truly demonstrated what it means to be seen, successful, and supported in our community.
Throughout the week, our school embodied our core BARK values:
๐พ Best Effort: Students and staff brought outstanding enthusiasm and effort to every single activity and event.
๐พ Accountable: Our entire school community worked together seamlessly to make each themed day run smoothly and safely.
๐พ Respectful: Positive encouragement and immense school pride were on display across all grade levels.
๐พ Kind: Bulldogs cheered each other on and celebrated everyone's participation, fostering a true sense of belonging.
A massive THANK YOU to all of our dedicated parents, teachers, and staff who helped make this week such a memorable experience for our students! We want to give a special shoutout to the groups that spearheaded these efforts: The Student PAC, The PBIS committee led by Ms. Godfrey, and Ms. Vickery. They truly made the week a phenomenal success!

How to ask for help
Do you struggle with asking for help?
By: Sloane Barnett
โDifferent humans experience many different emotions, therefore we all experience different struggles relating to asking for help.โ Says Lawren Barnett, an expert in persuasion and human emotion. If you struggle with asking for help, here are some key suggestions when dealing with struggles. โI try to do as much as I can and try my best to solve the problem, but you should feel comfortable asking anybody for help โ States Dan Hisey, an expert in perspective and experienced in this field of research, โSometimes it seems like more of a big deal for teens and young adults because most of the time they need to seem big and strong and seems more daunting for them.โ
Asking for help is something that many people struggle with, and there are many theories about who struggles the most, some say that it matters on the genders, and others say that the age matters, etc. Studies have shown that age does matter on how you process asking questions. Teens and young adults are shown to struggle more with asking for help.
The first thing that is recommended if you struggle with asking for help is to recognize and identify your needs. If you ask for help without trying yourself or without a plan on what to ask can make the conversation confusing or awkward. The next step is to choose the right person. If you choose the wrong person to ask that is inexperienced then the question will be confusing. Then, be clear and direct. If you arenโt certain about what you should ask, then you need to repeat the 2nd step until you are sure. After that, you should acknowledge that personโs rights and boundaries. If you donโt, then you are guaranteed to not get the help that you are asking for. Finally, you need to express gratitude. Then you are sure that the person that you needed help from is okay with you asking them and makes a happy mood instead of an awkward one.
Many people hesitate to ask for help due to fear of judgment, desire for independence, or concern about burdening others. If you are one of those people, you should follow these steps and get used to asking for help.
