ECC Fall Parade/Trick or Treat
The daycare students next door at CISD's Early Childhood Center have a tradition of parading their costumes and trick-or-treating at Endeavor. This year, the students will be coming over on Friday, October 27 during first period. For this, we need bags of candy. The first-period classes have the challenge of collecting unopened bags of candy. The first-period class that collects the most amount of candy IN OUNCES, will win a pizza party.
Another tradition at Endeavor is our Halloween door decorating contest. Second-period classes are assigned to decorate their teacher’s door for our trick-or-treaters. All doors will be decorated by Thursday, October 26. On Friday, pictures will be taken of the doors for a district-wide vote to determine the winner. The winning class will also receive a pizza party.
Finally, students are allowed to dress up in costume for the parade on Friday, October 27. Costumes are expected to be within the guidelines of CISD's dress code expectations. Also, because we will have young visitors on our campus, the costumes are not to be scary.
ACT/SAT Testing Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.

Smartphone Use During School Hours
Please remind your student that personal calls and messaging should be conducted before school, after school, or during lunch. In the past, some students have told teachers that they "have to answer a call" because it is from a relative or their job.
We understand that there are emergencies from time to time. So that your privacy is protected, please contact the Endeavor front office if you need to speak with your child. We will immediately escort your child to a private area to conduct their phone call with you. Phone calls that are made in the hallway or bathroom can cause disruption to the campus. Yes, we have heard loud conversations from the bathroom into the hallway!
Some calls have kept students out of class for more than 10 minutes. You will be texted by your child's teacher if he or she is out of class longer than is appropriate for the reason they gave. If ever a student has a need for medical attention, we have a school nurse for the Endeavor students.
All non-emergency communication should be made at the times mentioned earlier. Our teachers already have the challenge of keeping some students on task and not texting friends during class. Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
