Welcome to Our Heartbeat Newsletter!

If you're new here—welcome! Every Friday, we send out our Heartbeat of the Wildcat newsletter to keep you informed and connected. Each edition includes highlights of what’s been happening around the school during the week, as well as important updates and upcoming events.

Design and Modeling classes designed cutting boards using CAD and cut, glued, and finished hickory, white oak, maple, cherry, and walnut to create beautiful woodworks. These functional and stylish cutting boards are true works of art and craftsmanship!

Students are learning about DNA in Mrs. Williams room and built candy DNA models.

6th grade art completed their art room scavenger hunt to get familiar with their new classroom and learn where their supplies are.

Ceramics got their first experience with clay by playing a game of clay wars. They were given a prompt such as who can build the tallest tower in 2 minutes and worked as a table in hopes to win prizes from Lewis's PBIS Store

Ceramics started their first project. They are using the pinch pot technique to make pinch pot animals.

Chemistry is investigating properties of gases. We built hot air balloons and are examining what allows them to fly in regards to pressure, temperature, volume and number of gas molecules.

Middle school advanced flex students are working hard to prepare for their STEM competition.

Students in Biology extracted DNA from a strawberry yesterday!

Students in Agro Science investigated how “healthy” and diverse our parking lots were by comparing the teacher and student parking lots using the makes and models to represent different species in different environments

Students in Mrs. Prescott’s Consumer Science class participated in a bubble lab.

HSO mobile dentist will be at the elementary from February 2-13th

Students may participate in both ETS and Upward Bound programs.

The senior portrait deadline is May 1, and we will be sending reminders leading up to that date starting beginning of the year in 2026. We will start collecting them in spring 2026.

This will be the photo included in the yearbook.
