Dear families,

We are looking forward to Wes Molebash's visit next Thursday. Students will learn about the life of a cartoonist during their specials time. He will return in the evening for our Literacy Night and create stories with families in the cafeteria. Also, at 5:30 our Reading Specialists will be sharing with parents about the Science of Reading and how you can help your child at home. Meanwhile, students will be enjoying some reading activities and later STEM activities as a family. The schedule is below, and specifics about the locations of the stations will be available the evening of our Literacy Night. We hope to see you all here!

Today was a short and exciting day with spring pictures, 4-H dogs visiting classrooms, and our Read-a-thon VIP Breakast in the morning. For more dates and times for the Read-a-thon events next week, see the upcoming events at the end of the update. Thank you to all that participated and donated. We are so lucky to be in a community that supports our school.

ATTENTION KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE PARENTS:

We are excited to start our Wellness on Wheels program next week. Wiggin Street will be starting by using RZR scooters. Safety guidelines will be followed and each student will be wearing a helmet in class. If you have a helmet at home for your child please feel free to send the helmet to school with the student. If you do not, one will be provided for them in class with proper cleaning following wear. Their teachers have agreed to have the students keep them at school during the unit. Please see the attached document sent home with their teacher. Any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Evans bevans@mvcsd.us

Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.
