Note from Mrs. Lockwood:
It looks like Spring is here to stay! It's hard to believe we are wrapping up March. We are one week away from Spring Break! As a reminder, Spring Break is Monday, March 6, through March 10.
This week, our school-wide attendance for Friday through today is 93.1%. Let's close out this week 100% attendance!
The climate survey is closing on March 31. Currently, our completion rate is 38.46% (55 families) have completed the survey. Please take 5-10 minutes to complete the survey. Georgia School Climate Survey.
We are pleased to share that your child's Spring progress report is now available in the Parent Portal. Please note that this report card represents a mid-semester snapshot of your child's academic progress and does not reflect final grades. Teachers will continue to update grades and provide feedback throughout the remainder of the year as learning continues.
We encourage you to review the report card with your child, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss any areas where additional support may be helpful. Ongoing communication among families, students, and teachers is an important part of supporting student success.
If you have questions or concerns about your child's progress, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or school administration. We are committed to partnering with you to support your child's growth and learning.
Directions for accessing grades in the Parent Portal are on page 23 of the Grading and Reporting Handbook.

Clairemont Student Art on Display
Celebrate "Youth Art Month" at Annual K-12 Art Exhibition
In celebration of March as Youth Art Month, some of our incredibly talented CSD teachers and students are exhibiting their artwork each evening from 4-7 p.m. on March 31 and April 2 at The Solarium for the annual K-12 Art Exhibition. This year's theme, "The World Needs Art," by the Council for Art Education, reminds us of the vital role art plays in our lives. Several Clairemont students will have their art featured in the exhibit, so make sure to stop by and see it! Special thanks to the Decatur Education Foundation, Decatur Arts Alliance, and The Solarium for their funding and support.
Save the date for the Spring Carnival!
Book Fair and Spring Carnival Next Month
Mark your calendars! The book fair and spring carnival are coming back soon! The book fair will be April 20-24th during the school day. The Spring Carnival will be Tuesday, April 21st from 5:30-7:00. The book fair will be open that evening, and we'll have games, prizes, tattoos, and Kona Ice! New this year: order ahead dinner from Moe's to be delivered that evening during the carnival. Enjoy a picnic dinner while you shop and play, with proceeds from dinner benefitting PTA!
Volunteer for Book Fair Set Up and Carnival Night
We need just a few parents to help with setting up the book fair on Friday, April 17th and a few to help work the fair during the Spring Carnival on the evening of the 21st. If you are able to help either of these times, please CLICK HERE to volunteer.
Plan ahead and have dinner sorted for Spring Carnival!
PTA is partnering with Moe's for an on-site spirit night! Order ahead and Moe's will deliver a taco box to the school on Tuesday, April 21st during Spring Carnival. Each taco box is $39.99 and feeds 4-6 people. You can bring a blanket and have a picnic on the playground, or take your box home to the whole family.

Highlights of the Week
Specials Spectacular - Sensory edition!
Our latest Specials Spectacular was a feast for the senses. Students got to experience mystery sensations and smells, play in a sandbox, use magnifying glasses and microscopes to get an up-close look at nature, visit the "Zen Zone" for yoga or meditation, plus many more fun, hands-on sensory experiences. As always, our amazing specials team made the day truly spectacular for all students!
Career Day
Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who made Career Day a huge success and to Ms. Pratt for her hard work in organizing the day! Students got to hear about a wide variety of careers and get some inspiration for what they might want to start working toward.

As always, kids are welcome, and we will have light refreshments for participants. Registration is here.
Thanks to all who help in the fall too! You may have noticed that many of the daffodils we planted bloomed in early March.
Signing up as a member allows you to fully access our website and add your bulldog to the directory, along with classes and groups/clubs. This membership supports our school and the National and State PTA by paying annual dues that help us operate. We use PTA funds to support teacher grants and school events. A portion of the $10 serves as dues paid to the National and State Parent Teacher Association, which is our governing organization.

Dressed for Success?
We're ready for anything!
The teachers have been testing students' observational skills this week with Secret Spirit Days. Wednesday was "Dress for the Wrong Occassion" so we had everyone ready for graduation, hiking, space travel, Grateful Dead shows, Christmas, Fourth of July and much more! Students have had a blast trying to guess the teachers' dress up theme each day. What will tomorrow be?
