Rose Tree Elementary Weekly Update
September 12, 2026
Welcome Back!
Dear Rose Tree Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! We had a busy and exciting week at Rose Tree, filled with opportunities to come together and celebrate our school community.
We kicked things off with our Kindergarten Fun Run on Thursday, September 3rd at the Penncrest football game. It was wonderful seeing our youngest Huskies running across the field and showing their Rose Tree pride! We also had an incredible turnout at Wednesday’s Back to School Social. It was great seeing so many students and families enjoying time together, reconnecting with friends, and having some fun. A special thank you to our Rose Tree PTG for helping make the evening such a success!
On Friday, our entire school came together to support the Delco 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride. Students and staff dressed in red, white, and blue, waved American flags, and cheered on the riders as they passed Rose Tree Elementary. It was a meaningful opportunity for our students to show their support while remembering and honoring those whose lives were impacted by September 11, 2001.
Next week, we look forward to welcoming our parents and guardians for Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 16. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit your child’s classroom, learn more about the year ahead, and connect with our teachers and staff.
It has been a great start to the school year, and I appreciate the enthusiasm, support, and school spirit our families continue to bring to Rose Tree. Please take a few minutes to review this week’s newsletter for important information and upcoming dates.
Thank you for helping us show each day why Rose Tree ROCKS!
Warm regards,
Eric Bucci

A few reminders from Mrs. Hefferan, the school nurse:
Welcome back! It’s been wonderful seeing all your children this week!
Parents and caregivers are reminded to check their children for ticks if they have been playing outside. The American Academy of Pediatrics has advice on how to prevent and remove ticks, as well as symptoms to watch out for following a tick bite. Ticks found on students during the school day will be sent home with an information sheet. Feel free to call the nurse's office with any questions.
Is anyone in your home scratching their head? Here's a quick reminder about the district's Lice Management Plan. Classrooms are not screened for lice. You can contact the school nurse at 610-627-7228 for guidance if you are uncertain or if you discover lice/nits.
Updated guidance for parents about head lice was recently published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Click the link for everything you need to know about finding them and treating them. Get in the habit of checking your children’s heads periodically for lice and if you notice itching. Please remind your children not to share hats, brushes, hoodies or headbands / hair ties with their friends.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy!
Contact Mrs. Hefferan (610)627-7228 with any questions.
Sincerely,
Bridget Hefferan

Rose Tree Elementary School Picture Day
Thursday, September 24, 2026
Dear Rose Tree Families,
Picture Day at Rose Tree Elementary School will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Please review the information below carefully to ensure your child’s picture order is processed correctly.
Before Picture Day: Pre-Ordering
Shortly before Picture Day, you will receive an email from Active Image Media containing a personalized ordering link for your child.
Each student will receive their own unique link.
Please use each child’s individual link when ordering.
Do not share links between siblings or other family members.
If you have multiple children at Rose Tree, you must place a separate order using each child’s individual link.
Pre-ordering provides the best value. Pre-orders will be delivered to the school and distributed to students.
You do not need to print your receipt or send it to school. All orders are automatically submitted to Active Image Media.
Didn't Receive Your Link?
Please check your junk or spam folder first.
If you still cannot locate your child’s link, email support@activeimagemedia.com and include:
Rose Tree Elementary School
Your child’s name
Active Image Media will respond with your child’s assigned link.
Ordering After Picture Day
If you do not pre-order, you will receive another email approximately one week after Picture Day. You can use the same personalized link to view your child’s photo and place an order.
Please note: Orders placed after Picture Day will include a $9.95 shipping fee because they will be mailed directly to your home rather than delivered to school.
Family Special
Families with more than two children attending Rose Tree Elementary may receive a free package for their third child.
The free package must be the same package ordered for the siblings.
A la carte items are not included.
To receive the special, send a note with your third child on Picture Day.
Please include the siblings’ names, the package ordered, and the desired background.
Make-Up and Retake Day
The school will notify families when the Make-Up Picture Day is scheduled.
If you pre-ordered and are not satisfied with your child’s photo, your child is eligible for a retake. The original photo package must be returned on Make-Up Day to receive a replacement package.
If you did not pre-order and would like a retake, a $5.00 retake fee will be required.
Thank you!

A Collaborative Effort
Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year!
Parents, teachers, students, and administrators came together to learn about and discuss the cultural holidays and events observed throughout the school year. Together, they developed the list of holidays and events our schools will recognize, teach about, or celebrate. The selections featured in this newsletter reflect the voices and input of our community.
By learning about the cultures, traditions, and experiences represented in our community, we build greater understanding and acceptance of one another. This shared learning strengthens relationships and enhances each person’s sense of belonging in our schools.
Please select the “Resources” links to learn more.
Please email Ralph Harrison if you have any suggestions or ideas about our monthly events and holidays. We honor dignity by taking the time to learn about the cultures of all of our community members. The events/holidays are listed in the order they occur during the month. For more details, please click on the "Resources" links.
Support the PHS Band
The Philadelphia Phillies have invited the Penncrest Marching Band to participate in their Phillies Band Night on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 6:40 pm. This is both a fundraiser for the band and a competition to see which high school sells the most tickets.
The band will march in a parade down Citizens Bank Way and then play in a concert about an hour before the game. And if our high school sells the most tickets, our band will also get to perform on the field before the game! We have won this competition for the last decade and would like to continue the winning streak.
Tickets are $45 each. Tickets are on sale until Wednesday, September 9th. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Penncrest Band
You do not need to have a PayPal account to make a donation. You can check out as guest and make your payment safely with a credit card.
Ticket pick up will be at Penncrest HS Parking lot (outside of the band room - near the lion statue):
Tuesday, September 15: 6 - 8 PM
Wednesday, September 16: 6 - 8 PM
This is a great opportunity for the kids to perform and help raise money for the band. As an added bonus, the Phillies are on a hot streak so it should be a great game to watch!!
