Due to construction at GJH, the front entrance will be closed for the summer. Student drop-off and pick up will be in the North parking lot for all events. Summer Band and Orchestra students should be dropped off in the North lot, walk down the sidewalk, and enter the building through door GG. For the field trips to Washington, D.C., Cedar Point, Deep River, students should be dropped off in the North lot and board buses there.

Students who qualified for our reward field trips in June should have received letters and permission slips during their 7th period class in April. Qualifying 7th graders have the opportunity to go to Deep River Waterpark, and qualifying 8th graders will get to go to Cedar Point.

Please note the due date of May 12th for turning in permission slips and money. We will not be able to accept these after the due date.

If your child did not get a letter but thought they met the requirements, please have them check in Skyward to be sure they qualify. After checking Skyward, if they still feel there is an error, have them check with Mrs. Herschberger to confirm.

Here are the criteria for both trips:

1. Six or fewer absences (excused and unexcused absences count)
2. Thirty or fewer tardies to class
3. One or less referral (excluding major referrals)

Administrators will make the final decision about eligibility for any exceptional cases.

All 8th graders need to have physicals and Final Forms completed by June 1st if they are planning to participate in Goshen High School athletics over the summer.

On September 2, 2026, the mobile dentist will visit Goshen Junior High School. Services provided by the mobile dentist include examination, cleaning, fluoride, x-rays, and sealants. More information will be coming in the Fall. Parents can sign up at https://www.myschooldentist.com/

Planning for next school year is underway! If your student will be attending from outside the district, please remember that an Out-of-District Transfer form must be completed each year.

To ensure your student’s placement is secured, be sure to submit the form as soon as possible. Delays in completing this process may impact scheduling and class placement.

The 7th grade Beginner EL student of the Month for April is Jordan Flores Alvarado. Jordan is an enjoyable student who continues to work hard on his studies and has demonstrated a spectacular ability to memorize large quantities of new vocabulary words. Jordan is a good example and friend to his peers. We are all very proud of his hard work to achieve this award!

This is a reminder that if you need to pick up your child early from school, this needs to happen before buses begin to arrive at 3:45 p.m. We ask that you call the office at least 30 minutes in advance of the pick-up time. Thank you for helping to ensure a smooth and safe dismissal process for all students!

For the safety of students, car traffic is not allowed in the front parking lot during our arrival (8:45-9:15) and dismissal (3:45-4:15) times. At any time when there are buses in the front lot, parents must drop off or pick up students in the North or South lot. Please communicate with your child ahead of time so s/he will know where to find you after school.

Our goal is to help students understand and evaluate appropriate settings for formal vs. informal attire, which is a skill they will use in the world beyond school. Students will see this addressed starting on the first day of school.
