Congratulations to our Girls on the Run Group!
What an incredible morning! The Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wisconsin 5K was a tremendous success, filled with joy, determination, encouragement, and celebration.
We are deeply grateful to our dedicated coaches for their leadership, commitment, and care throughout the season. Through twice-weekly lessons focused on social-emotional growth, confidence-building, teamwork, and healthy habits, they helped prepare our girls for this special achievement. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the families who joined as running buddies and to everyone who came out to cheer and support our participants.
For several years, Girls on the Run has been an important part of the La Escuela Fratney community, and we are excited to continue growing and expanding the program in the future. Most of all, we are incredibly proud of our girls for their perseverance, courage, and growth. Today was about much more than crossing a finish line—it was about building confidence, discovering strength, and celebrating what is possible when we believe in ourselves and support one another. 💙🏃♀️✨

Monday Message for Families/El mensaje del lunes
Monday Message – June 1, 2026
Dear La Escuela Fratney Families,
Each year, we ask families to share end-of-year feedback about their experience at La Escuela Fratney. We take your feedback very seriously and use it to reflect on our strengths and identify opportunities for improvement. As a school community, we are committed to continuously maintaining and improving our systems, programs, and family partnerships. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey using the link below. Email addresses are not collected and will not be shared; they are only used to ensure that each person submits one response.
As we enter the final two weeks of the school year, we want to remind everyone that every day counts. Students are continuing to learn, complete important assignments, and participate in end-of-year activities. Please help your child arrive on time and attend school every day. School begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.
We are also excited about our school-wide attendance competition! Classes with the best attendance will earn special incentives and recognition. Thank you for helping us finish the school year strong.
This Wednesday, we will hold our Family Leadership Meeting from 5:00–6:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. We especially encourage families of K5 and 5th grade students to attend as we finalize plans for upcoming special events and share information about our annual Kern Park End-of-Year Picnic. We hope to see you there.
For families participating in CLC, please note that Thursday, June 4, is the last day of both AM and PM CLC programming.
There will be no school on Friday, June 5, as teachers will be completing report cards for Record Day.
Finally, we ask families to continue supporting our school expectations. Per the MPS Code of Conduct, students should leave all toys, balls, and other personal items at home unless specifically requested by school staff. This helps ensure that students remain focused on learning and that all students have a safe and positive school environment.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to connecting with many of you at Wednesday's Family Leadership Meeting.
Together, we finish strong!

Volunteers
Are you interested in volunteering at La Escuela Fratney? We welcome volunteers to support with arrival, lunch, and recess times. Per our school policy, families are not able to volunteer in their own child's classroom on an ongoing basis. If you are interested in volunteering in classrooms, it must be a different classroom and be organized and approved through the parent coordinator Ms. Grace.
Here is the paragraph from the MPS Family manual that describes the volunteer process:
Family Volunteers
Persons interested in volunteering are encouraged to follow the appropriate volunteer application process defined by the district. MPS defines a volunteer as a person who provides services on an ongoing or one-time basis. Persons looking to serve on an ongoing basis or for more than five hours a week or for an overnight field trip must complete an online volunteer application, pass a criminal background check (for those 18 years of age or older), and receive a volunteer assignment by the school administrator or parent coordinator. Persons looking to participate in a daytime field trip or other one-time activity must complete a volunteer waiver form. The online volunteer application and the volunteer waiver form are available on the MPS website under the Families tab > Volunteer.
