Reading
In Unit 1, Plants and Animals in Their Habitats, students are exploring how living things survive and thrive in different environments. Through engaging nonfiction texts, they are learning to identify key details, understand how images support the text, and explain what makes each habitat unique. We are also practicing asking and answering questions to build strong comprehension skills.
UFLI
Currently, we are working on reviewing short vowels and digraphs. As we finish testing, we will begin groups where each student will be in a group based on their reading needs. Here is a link to the Ufli parent guide. Click the UFLI picture for more information.
Math
We have been building our classroom “math community” as we practice adding and subtracting within 20. This week, students are having fun collecting information and turning it into picture graphs and bar graphs. It’s exciting to see them making connections between numbers and real-life data!.
