A note from Mrs Tidd....
ALE Families,
It has been a great first few days back at school! Students are settling in, learning routines, and building class communities. Kids really are doing a great job getting back in the swing of school and there are lots of smiles around the building!
As far as communication, you can expect a weekly newsletter from me each Friday. In it, we try to share school-wide happenings and community news that might interest our families. If you ever have any questions about anything at ALE, please reach out to your child’s teacher or contact the front office at 317-789-3800.
I visited all 4th and 5th grade classrooms this week to remind students of the dress code policy. It is listed below in the newsletter, but the things to make note of as you are shopping for cold weather clothes…we do NOT allow hoodies, full zip fleece or jackets (button up cardigans are allowed) or logos and writing that are larger than an open hand. Our students should be able to answer any questions you might have about these items, but feel free to reach out if you need clarification.
There is also a new law in effect that bans cell phones from being out during the school day, so please remind students if phones are in backpacks, they must stay there and be powered off.
We are off to a great start to the 2026-2027 school year! Let’s keep it going!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Tidd
Important ALE information
Important Reminders
- When your child is absent, you must call them into the attendance line at 317-789-3802.
- Please make sure your phone numbers, including emergency phone numbers, are up to date in Skyward. It is a safety concern when we can’t get ahold of anyone.
- Any transportation changes must be called into the office no later than 2:00pm each day to ensure a safe and seamless dismissal for our students.
- Due to the car rider line starting early, no students will be released past 2:15pm so please plan accordingly.
- If you would like to eat lunch with your student, please let the office know ahead of time so they can ensure that the parent/student lunch area is not already occupied that day. During the first two weeks of school we will not be accepting lunch visitors so that students can learn the cafeteria procedures and rules. We would love to see you for lunch beginning 8/17.
