Library Newsletter

All Library books, Playaways, and magazines were due Friday, May 23rd. If any items are still checked out, please return them to the library as soon as possible to avoid fines.

The end of the school year is fast approaching so please read through the reminders regarding Library Book returns, Chromebooks & Chargers.

Chromebook & Charger Return Dates:

Friday, May 30th - 8th Grade

Monday, June 2nd - 6th & 7th Grade

Tuesday, June 3rd - 9th & 10th Grade

Wednesday, June 4th - 11th Grade

Lost or Damaged Chromebook Chargers - If your Chromebook charger is lost or damaged they are $25 to replace, payable to the Main Office. Please leave your chargers at home until it is time to return them at the end of the school year.

Stickers, Tape, etc. on your Chromebook - If you added any personal stickers or tape to your Chromebook during the school year, they must by removed before check-in (do NOT remove barcode and name labels on the bottom).

Get ready for our Summer Reading Challenge!

When: June 9th - August 15th, 2025

Who: All Middle School and High School students and staff in the Omro School District.

How: You will color an image on the summer reading log page for each book you read this summer. Turn it into the Middle School/High School Library when we return for the 25-26 school year. Your goal is to reach 40 books. What counts:

• Chapter Books
• Picture Books you read to a younger sibling
• Graphic novels
• Audiobooks
• Magazines
• Cookbooks

Why: Because reading is fun and you could win some Awesome Prizes:

Hello 6th Graders! Do you want to earn a free book from Barnes & Noble this summer? If the answer is yes, keep reading to find out how!

1. Read any 8 books of your choice this summer and record them in the Summer Reading Journal. Write down what your favorite part of the book was and why.

2. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between July 1st and August 31st, 2025.

3. Choose your free book from the attached document.

Are you interested in joining Battle of the Books next school year? Get a head start on reading the selected books for next year's competition by visiting WEMTA's website.

The book list will be announced June 1st so you will have all summer to read!

In the fall, look for the sign-up sheet in the library to let Mrs. Gee know that you are interested. Form a team of 2-4 people or Mrs. Gee will help you find a team at our first meeting in October.
