Wednesday started with RTMSD "Opening Ceremonies." All staff attended a meeting at Penncrest High School and our Roaring Lions Marching Band and Cheerleaders started the morning off with an energetic performance (and a sneak peak of a song from their field show). It was such an exciting way to WELCOME BACK all our staff as we prepare for the upcoming school year!

We look forward to seeing everyone Thursday August 28th during our New Family Welcome, Kindergarten Orientation, or Open House.

Parents and guardians are invited to meet with your child's teacher as they review curriculum, introduce families to the classroom structure and procedures, and provide an overview of the year. We offer two sessions of the classroom presentation so you may attend a time that works best for you (and allow those with multiple students to visit both rooms). This is an adult-only event, no students or younger siblings.

We will follow this schedule for both evenings:

6:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.: Classroom Presentation

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.: Meet our Specialists in the Library

7:05 p.m. - 7:35 p.m.: Repeat Classroom Presentation

Open House (Visitation) - Returning Students in Grades 1-5

Returning Families (Grades 1st - 5th) are invited to sign up for a time Thursday, August 28th to find your new classroom, meet your teacher, drop off school supplies (or sort through the First Day Supply Kit if you pre-ordered), and visit with classmates.

Please sign up for a time slot to visit during our Open House. Each teacher has three time slots:
2 pm - 2:20 pm / 2:20 pm - 2:40 pm / 2:40 pm - 3 pm

We are inviting all incoming Kindergarten students to our KINDERGARTEN DASH on Friday September 5th! Kindergarten students are invited to run the length of the turf field together before our 7 pm first home football game! We will provide all Kindergarten students with a "Future LION" t-shirt they can wear for the event.

Our Penncrest Lions face Haverford High School - kick off 7 pm... enjoy our Roaring Lions Marching Band halftime show... support our senior class by purchasing a snack (or dinner) at the concession stand... stock up on Penncrest football swag at the booster tent... what better way to KICK OFF the upcoming school year!!!

Kindergarten students should plan to arrive at 6:15 pm, meet on the track at 6:30 pm (near the scoreboard end of the field). Dash will be held at 6:40 pm - students will be asked to quickly leave the field after the run, to allow the football team time to warm up. This is NOT a drop-off event. We ask only one parent/guardian on the field with your Kindergarten student (no siblings).

Admission for the football game is $5/adult (ages 12 and older)... cash only, please try to have exact change. For any questions, please contact penncrestathleticboosters@gmail.com.

Glenwood Calendar

Glenwood PTG would like to welcome our new Glenwood students with a "Welcome to Glenwood" yard sign. If you want to have one placed in your yard, please complete the following form by August 22nd. Signs will be delivered to your house at the end of August. We ask that you please return the signs back to Glenwood during Back-to-School Night in September so we can use them again for next year. *Please note, this is just for incoming Kindergartners and new Glenwood families! PTG is currently looking for Homeroom Representative volunteers! As a homeroom rep, you will facilitate communication between parents and teacher, principal and PTG. You will also support the teacher as needs arise including classroom parties and events. It is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your child's school experience!

Please fill out the below form via Membership Toolkit completely and submit by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th. Include up to 3 preferences. Once the list is confirmed, you will receive an email notification of your assigned classroom. Ideally, we'd like to have two homeroom parents per classroom. The homeroom coordinator will be the primary contact between the teacher and classroom parents when planning classroom events and activities. Homeroom Rep Sign Up

ALL HOMEROOM PARENTS MUST HAVE THEIR CLEARANCES ON FILE WITH THE DISTRICT.

To complete your clearances, refer to our district website. Once you have obtained the necessary paperwork, please submit all three forms to the Glenwood Main Office.
