Happy Wednesday Cherrydale Families,

It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching our first round of Parent/Teacher Conferences! Fall Conferences will take place the week of October 19–23, and sign-ups are available beginning today through ParentSquare! Please take a moment to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher, connect about how the year is going, celebrate your child’s growth, and talk about ways we can continue to support their learning.

Please remember that school will dismiss at 12:35 p.m. each day that week, so please plan accordingly.

And don’t forget—the Book Fair will also be happening during Conference Week! More information about Book Fair hours and opportunities to shop will be shared soon.

Thank you for making time to connect with your child’s teacher and for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful for the opportunity to work together to help every Cheetah learn, grow, and thrive!

Our preschool classroom has been buzzing with fall fun! They have been learning about fall leaves and pumpkins through colorful crafts, festive songs and hands-on activities.

Each year we screen all second grade students for eligibility in the district’s Highly Capable Program. This year’s screening occurred with the iReady Fall Inform tests. These tools are the first step in the screening process for the program. If a child has met the criteria for additional testing, a message was sent via Parent Square to their family This testing will occur during conference week, October 19-23.

If you are the parent/guardian of a second grade student and do not receive this Parent Square message, you are welcome to apply for the Highly Capable Program in the Spring. If you have any questions about the program feel free to contact me via Parent Square or email at hengstrom@steilacoom.k12.wa.us.
