Schoology to PowerTeacher Pro: You Spoke ... We Listened!

Schoology has been used to report student progress for the past several years in Kindergarten to Grade 4. We are excited to announce that we are moving away from Schoology. Results from our school division spring surveys indicated parents wanted a change! They reported that Schoology has been challenging to use, inefficient, time-consuming to navigate, and has hindered their ability to stay connected with their child's learning journey. Teachers have also experienced similar frustrations.

As a result, we are transitioning to PowerTeacher Pro which will be accessed through PowerSchool. Our teachers are currently receiving training on this new platform. We will send out information on how to log in to view your child's progress once teachers have had time to learn this new program.

We thank you for your patience as we learn this new system that we believe will better meet our school's needs.

Inclement Weather Procedures

Although we are enjoying beautiful fall weather, winter will be here before we know it. As a school, we ensure our practices are in alignment with our division’s Inclement Weather & Outdoor Air Quality Administrative Procedure.

Our full inclement weather procedures, including guidelines for cold temperatures, rainy days, and poor air quality, can be found on our school website: Inclement Weather Procedures. Please note that the threshold for indoor recess has changed from -20°C to -25°C (with or without windchill) to be in alignment with this new Administrative Procedure.

To ensure students can enjoy outdoor play safely, we ask parents to make sure children are always dressed appropriately for the weather. Warm clothing, proper footwear, and layering are essential during the colder months.
