Stomp Out Bullying Day!
Families,
It was a fantastic Start with Hello Week and StompOut Bullying Day at Big Walnut Middle School. Our students were able to connect our SOARing characteristics of Scholarship, Ownership, Awareness and Respect to building a positive environment for everyone this week. We want to thank our BWMS PTO, SOAR Leadership and Student Council for organizing such events and activities that align with our goal to Make Kindness Normal!
Now onto the final week of the 1st quarter.

School Updates
- The next BWMS PTO Meeting is Tuesday 10/13/26 at 7PM.
The final day of the 1st quarter is Thursday 10/15/26.
There is no school on Friday 10/16/26 for a teacher workday.
The BWMS Book Fair will take place during Lunch during the week of Monday 10/19/26. Sponsored by our PTO, this is a great opportunity for students to find some new reading material.
1st quarter report cards will be posted online in PowerSchool on Friday 10/23/26.
Picture Retakes will take place on Tuesday 11/3/26.
The Big Nut Strut is Sunday 11/8/26. Check out the details below and how you can help support our BWMS PTO at this community event.
BWMS would love to celebrate your Veteran at our annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday 11/13/26. See Details Below.
The first Eagles Night will be Friday 11/13/26 from 2:10PM-4:30PM. Sponsored by our Student Council and SOAR Leadership, this is a time for fun, games and more at BWMS. Cost is $5 at the door.

Parents, we have had a few more broken screens of chromebooks recently, if you could remind your student to be careful with the storage and care of this device, especially when in their backpack, it would be greatly appreciated.

Support our PTO at the Big Nut Strut
Have you registered for the Big Nut Strut 5k? The event is Sunday, November 8th at PRE/BWHS.
This fun, family-friendly event helps raise money for all 8 Big Walnut Schools! This was one of the biggest fundraisers in 2026, and we need your help. The more participants from our school, the more money our school gets!

You can participate in-person or virtually for the 5K race or 1 mile walk. The Big Nut Strut brings our community together helping raise support for all Big Walnut Preschool, Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School and High School PTOs. These committees enrich our students educational experience through support of additional programs and materials to their curriculum. Come join us to show your EAGLE PRIDE!
Student Pick Up and Drop Off Update
For the safety of our youngest BW learners at the Early Learning Center, the access road from Letts avenue may be temporarily closed at the following hours due to students entering/exiting their bus.
- 8:40–9:00 AM – AM student arrival
- 11:20–11:40 AM – AM student dismissal
- 12:15–12:35 PM – PM student arrival
- 2:55–3:15 PM – PM student dismissal
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to keep each arrival safe, efficient, and on time!
BWMS Athletic Information
Reminder that all athletes should have their final forms complete and a current OHSAA Evaluation Exam Form uploaded to Final Forms directly or emailed to Mrs. Kreager stephaniekreager@bwls.net. All physicals must be received prior to the first tryout date or first practice of the season.
