Happy New Year! Happy New Year!

As we enter 2025, there are only 12 school days left in first semester. Semester 1 ends on Friday, January 17; teachers will have until Thursday, January 23 to finalize and post grades. We expect to issue report cards on Friday, January 24.

A reminder to parents of students in the Class of 2028 -- in order to earn credit for first semester classes, your students must not only get a passing grade overall, but they must also pass each competency category for the class. You can check the category grades by logging into Focus on the web -- NOT the phone app. If you need help with Focus, please email focus@leepublicschools.net.

We are pleased to enter a partnership with Cradles to Crayons, a Massachusetts nonprofit dedicated to ending clothing insecurity for children. Various student groups have worked with Cradles to Crayons in the past, and now we are happy to have a clothing collection bin onsite! The purple bin is located in the student parking lot, and accepts clothing and shoes. You can get a tax receipt using the QR code located on the collection bin.

Middle School Kindness Lesson Middle School Kindness Lesson

During the second week of January, for one class period, students in the GSA student club will lead activities to help seventh and eighth graders consider how they interact with other members of the community. The focus will be kindness to everyone, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexuality, or physical/intellectual ability. Using a lesson adapted from the Anti-Defamation League’s “No Place for Hate” curriculum, students will consider how negative labels and perceptions can impact others. Please contact Principal Gregg Brighenti if you would like your middle school student to not participate in this lesson.

We often get questions about the winter sports schedules, which can change often due to weather and other reasons. The best place to get updated information is on the Arbiter Sports calendar, which is also linked from the athletics page of the school website.

Free COVID Tests Available Free COVID Tests Available

The federal government has provided free COVID test kits to the school. Any student, parent, or staff member may stop by the main office to pick up a couple boxes (each box contains two tests). These will be available while supplies last.
