TVMS News
October 31, 2025
Hello TVMS families,
Today marks the end of Quarter 1! We hope our Timberwolves finished the quarter strong academically. Teachers are finalizing grades, and report cards will be available electronically on November 10. To support stronger home–school communication, TVMS will also send home a printed copy on November 11. Students who return the signed printed report card to their first-period teacher will receive a small treat.
Also, a quick reminder that Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend—remember to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday night!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Young, Principal

As we near Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th, we would like to honor the veterans in the families of our students. These veterans can be from any country and have served during any conflict or peace time. If there is a veteran in the family of your student, please use this link to create a slide about them. You will need to make a copy of the slide in order to edit it and then send it to Ms. Rice, our GT Resource teacher, at leann_rice@hcpss.org. Thank you!

There will be a cap for the number of tickets available for purchase. As always, students who attend the dance should consistently demonstrate behavior that aligns with the Student Code of Conduct and PBIS framework both in and out of school.
*Any students that have had a suspension or 3 or more office referrals this school year must have a parent chaperone.

Supports for Families During Federal Government Shutdown
As many Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) families are impacted by the federal government shutdown, we understand that many people in our community may experience financial hardship or uncertainty. HCPSS remains committed to supporting all students and families during this time.
Howard County families who have lost pay due to the shutdown may apply for the Free and Reduced-Priced Meals (FARMs) program, and the HCPSS Food and Nutrition Office will determine their eligibility status within 24-48 hours. Families that previously did not qualify for the FARMs program could now be eligible due to current loss of income.
Families that are adversely impacted, including those who do not receive FARMs assistance, will have the remainder of the school year to pay off any meal balances incurred during the government shutdown.
HCPSS recognizes that many students may be suffering fear or anxiety about their family’s current financial situation. Student Services staff at each school are prepared and available to assist students at any time during the school day. Numerous resources are also available for families on the HCPSS website, and other supports are available through the Howard County Department of Community Resources and Services.

Important: Update your Student/ Family Emergency Information Today!
This must be updated each school year
Parents/guardians must verify and/or update emergency information for each child every school year. This is completed online in Family File, which has several new updates including how and where to access. Full details on updating your Family File are available online.
One exciting new feature is that families now can submit a change of address via Family File, rather than completing a separate form and sending to their school.
Full directions and information for families on this new process can be found online.
