Benny Bengal's News Brief
Boggess Elementary PTA || Volume 22, Issue 18
Benny Passes the Mic to Our PTA President...
Wow! Our Color Crazy Fun Run was CRAZY successful. We raised more than $11,500!!! And Jersey Mike's presented us a check for $1,463 from our free sub fundraiser. This money will go a long way to support our school and students next year.
💗💗💗 I have to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to Boggess parents, grandparents, and relatives. Most of our Fun Run donations came from these three groups. We love the way you show up and support our Bengals! 💗💗💗
Who else is counting down the days until summer? We're going out with a SPLASH! Our Water Field Day is May 12. We will also hold our last general PTA meeting at Field Day. Check below for ways you can volunteer.
Thanks,
Sylvia Roy

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
DATE: May 8-12
Howdy y’all!! Now listen up, pardners: If y’all got a teacher who’s been teachin’ your little ones the ropes all year round, it’s time to show ‘em some appreciation!
Now, I reckon a good old-fashioned teacher gift is just the thing to do the trick. You can rustle up some gifts to show ‘em how much you appreciate ‘em. So grab your hat, saddle up, and head on down to the general store to get your teacher the perfect gift. Yeehaw!
Check out the plan for the week below and roll out your gifts accordingly.
You can also find your teacher's favorites right here on our website.

PISD NEEDS YOU TO COMPLETE YOUR INTENT TO RETURN FORM
In order to help campus staff appropriately and schedule classes for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, families are asked to complete an Intent to Return form online. Please complete the form as soon as possible since planning for the upcoming school year is already underway. If your family does not plan to return, families are asked to notify us as well since that information also helps with planning.
Thank you for your assistance in helping schools with planning for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions regarding the Intent to Return Form, please contact Karina Trotter, Director of Welcome & Enrollment Center.
HELP MAKE BOGGESS PTA STRONGER: VOLUNTEER FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
We Work With Working Parents
It's easy for working parents to be part of the PTA! You can volunteer for our open board or member positions, and set a time commitment that fits your schedule, from a few hours a week to a few hours a month. There are several flexible positions with outside-of-school hours, such as chairing evening events like Movie Night, Trunk or Treat, Fall Carnival, Fun Run, or Bike Rodeo and updating the Boggess marquee sign. You’ll love it and our kids will, too!
Click here to read more about these positions and to nominate yourself or someone perfect for the job. Thanks for your support!
BENNY'S VOLUNTEERS OF THE WEEK
Huge shoutout to our Fun Run Chairs Gloria Williams and Bridgette Williams. This mother-daughter power duo organized an amazing event that set up PTA to start the 2023-2024 year strong. VP of Ways and Means Gloria also served on our lifetime member selection committee, and Publicity Chair Bridgette is part of our 2023-2024 nominating committee. Benny and all of Boggess say THANK YOU!
And round of applause to Kacey Miranda, who manned our Fun Run finish line for the entire event and handed out so. many. stickers. We appreciate everyone who helped make it a success!

Boggess Book Club April Meeting
Boggess Book Club met in April to discuss "Wonder," joined by special guest Mrs. Wells.
Students wrote down their favorite precepts, or words to live by, like Mr. Brown does for his class in the book.
Students also reflected on the ways "I am a wonder because..."
The next book club meeting is Thursday, May 18, to discuss "Rump: The Fairly True Tale of Rumpelstiltskin."
