Happy Thursday, Davis Families!

Since we don't have school tomorrow, the newsletter is coming to you a day early. As a reminder, the students have Friday and Monday off.

About every two weeks I get a blog in my email from Javier Sanchez who founded REACH (Reaching Excellence in Attitude, Character, and Health) Communications. His blogs are short and always give me reason to pause and think a bit. This week's blog was especially intriguing so I wanted to share it with you in case you might be interested. It is a short read about the importance of helping build resiliency in our students. Full disclosure -- I am not a parent, and the blog references parents, but his story was very similar to several of mine as a middle school aged girl. It made me smile and think about times back then compared to now. So much has changed, but the idea of helping to build resiliency in our students is just as important now as ever. Here is the blog if you would like to give it a read.

I hope you all enjoy your long four day weekend!

Go Irish!

Jaime

Adjustment to Bell Schedule

We had to make a few tweaks to our middle school bell schedule across the district. There were no drastic changes but it did change the lunch times by just a few minutes. Our new schedule starting Tuesday, October 21 is below.

Irish Athletics Irish Athletics

It's hard to believe the final Fall Sports event is this Sunday. Good luck to our Cross country team as they run in the State XC Meet at the Fortress at Obetz this Sunday!

The Athletic Department would like to sincerely thank all of our kids, coaches, and parents for a wonderful and successful Fall sports season. All of our kids and teams showed great improvement in their chosen sports. Our volleyball teams both finished strong this year, and our 7th-grade team won their tournament bracket! Both football teams ended their home season with impressive wins, helped along by the best cheer squad in Dublin. Almost all of our cross-country runners finished with "personal records" in the last few weeks. Girls' tennis finished with a winning record, boys golf continued to develop, and not to be outdone, the Dublin Girls' golf team finished the season undefeated and won the conference tournament.

Thanks to all the parents who filled the various volunteer needs, team meals, and transportation needs for the teams this year. Great parents make for a great program. We wanted for nothing this year thanks to all of your efforts.

Winter sports are just around the corner. Please check out the Athletic Website for all the details for basketball and wrestling this Winter.
