Hello Texans,

Happy November! Time sure is flying by and we have lots to be thankful for. Number 1 on our list is YOU! We cannot thank you enough for the outpouring of love and support you provide each and everyday to your children, our teachers, and the campus as a whole. Thank you for attending our events and being a part of a collective that promotes a culture of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Our November calendar is filled up with lots of gratitude, Magnet School visits, and some fun activities for everyone. Check out what your counselors have been up to and what's still in store for you the rest of the month! You don't want to miss out! 🦃

Your Neff Counselors are in full swing visiting classrooms this month with a focus on how to managing one's STRESS:

• Our 6th graders engaged in an interactive stress bingo where they learned and practiced some coping strategies to help when they are feeling stressed.
• Our 7th graders will be learning tips on self-care and creating a plan to help manage their daily, weekly, everyday stressors.
• And our 8th graders will be learning about the amazing Magnet Schools we have here at NISD. The opportunities, the challenges, the excitement, and where to even get started! Lots more to come as we kick-off transition season :)

Our October Counselor PopUp was around being a supportive friend. We had a favorite season "check-in," followed by a sticker trade once our students completed their hand tracing activity and completed the statement: " I support my friend by..."

Be on the lookout for our next one! It just might get you thinking about the future :)

The whole month of November is dedicated to promote college and career readiness initiatives statewide. The goal is to increase student awareness and action regarding the various and NUMEROUS opportunities to support post-secondary planning.

Our 8th grade Adv ELA and Musical Theater classes enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Majestic seeing The Outsiders. Thank you to ALL of our sponsors, those who supported during our Neff spirit nights, and to the chaperones-this could not have been a successful and smooth evening without each of you-THANK YOU!!

Taki Tuesdays are BACK! Your Texan Child Advocacy Team is ready to surpass last year's attendance goal. Will our 8th graders continue to reign in the top spot? Or will our 6th and 7th graders step up to the challenge? Follow us to find out!

Taki Tuesday started as an Attendance Pop Up initiative we created to encourage and motivate our students to come to school everyday. The best part of this campaign, our students have no clue when the next Pop Up will be or if we will change the theme. For example, we've had "Wacky Wednesdays," "Theater Thursdays," and many other little surprises. We want to see our students here everyday, in every class. Help us ensure your student is here and on time!
