CPCISD October Update
October Details in One Place!
A Note from our Superintendent
October is off to a fantastic start across Como-Pickton CISD, and I am excited to share some of the wonderful things happening throughout Eagle Nation!
This month, we are celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of our students! Congratulations to our District Champion Lady Eagles Cross Country Team, our District Champion Lady Eagles Volleyball Team, and our Junior High Boys Cross Country Team for their impressive achievements! We are also cheering on our War Eagle Band as they prepare to compete at the next level in the coming weeks. These students continue to demonstrate what hard work, determination, teamwork, and Eagle Pride can accomplish. We could not be prouder!
Exciting progress continues across our district as several major construction projects near completion. From our beautiful new Competition Gym and Career and Technical Education Center to expanded and renovated learning spaces and our Band Hall expansion, we are building a brighter future for generations of Eagles. These improvements are about so much more than new buildings. They represent opportunity, innovation, and our unwavering commitment to providing our students with the very best educational experiences possible. It is truly an exciting time to be part of Como-Pickton CISD!
October is also Principal Appreciation Month, and I want to take this opportunity to recognize our incredible campus principals. Their leadership, dedication, and tireless commitment to our students and staff make a difference every single day. They wear countless hats, face challenges with determination, and lead with a heart for children. I hope you will join me in expressing appreciation for all they do to make CPCISD such a special place to learn and grow.
As we look ahead to the remainder of the fall semester, I am reminded of how blessed we are to have such wonderful students, dedicated employees, supportive families, and a community that believes in our schools. Our success is a reflection of all of you, and I am grateful for the continued support and pride you show for Eagle Nation.
Thank you for being part of what makes Como-Pickton CISD — One Choice, the Best Choice!

Important Reminders
1. Regular Attendance is So Important!
Thank you for sending your student to Como-Pickton every day! It is so important for our students to be in attendance each day to learn, build friendships, and develop their sense of self. Absences will now be taken at 8:50 each day (instead of 9:00).
At the end of each six weeks, students from each campus who have maintained perfect attendance during that grading period will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $100! What a great incentive to be at school every day!

This Week is Texas Safe Schools Week
Today, we are proud to kick off Texas Safe Schools Week – a time to recognize the vital role we all play in creating learning environments where every student feels safe, supported, and ready to succeed.
School safety is everyone’s responsibility. This vital work can only be achieved through the collaboration, dedication, and leadership of educators, administrators, first responders, mental health professionals, parents, and students – each playing a critical role in protecting our schools.
While this week shines a spotlight on the importance of safety in education, we know that your commitment extends far beyond – making school safety a priority every single day.
"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."
