Salt Creek District 48 is always looking for wonderful substitute educators for our teaching positions, teaching assistants, and lunchroom supervisors. If you are interested in being a part of our substitute pool in any capacity, please complete an application or contact Susan Nelson, Human Resources Salt Creek SD 48, at snelson@saltcreek48.org. The applications can be found on our District 48 website under "More" on the right hand side and then "Careers."

Please make sure to notify Kate Beckwith if your child will be absent, arriving late, or being dismissed early. It is helpful to contact your child's teacher in these matters as well, but it is very important to contact the office! If you have any test results from COVID testing or Doctor's notes, please send those to our nursing staff.

Gullivers Thursdays

Gullivers has teamed up with FTC to offer dine outs every Thursday in February! A portion of your bill will go to FTC, directly supporting the schools in District 48. Please present the flyer when dining in, or mention you are supporting District 48 FTC when placing your carry out or delivery order every Thursday in February. Dinner is planned!

Enchanted Evening Dance Postponed

Due to the current state of the pandemic, FTC is postponing the Enchanted Evening Dance. We hope to host this event in the spring when the weather is nice, positive covid cases are lower, and we can enjoy both indoor and outdoor areas. More information to come.

Reading for Education

FTC has partnered with Reading for Education to bring an amazing opportunity for you to support teachers and the schools. Parents, friends and family can purchase gift certificates for your child's teacher to purchase reading materials for the classroom library. At the end of the program, each school will receive 40% of the total gift cards purchased. It's a win-win situation! Your child will be bringing information home this week. Gullivers Dine Out 2022.png

We have been running our weekly COVID-19 screening program for a few weeks now. It is a low nasal swab test, and students are in and out quickly. Children registered for testing can even test at school before they are sent home for being a close contact and/or having symptoms. These PCR tests are picked up daily, as needed, and the results come back between 24-48 hours later. If you have registered for testing, please let Mrs. Smith know if you DO NOT want your child to test weekly!

It is important to have proof of your student’s COVID-19 vaccination on file for contact tracing purposes. For example, if your student is identified as a close contact in a positive COVID-19 case, but they are vaccinated and remain asymptomatic, they will be cleared to remain in school. This also applies to situations where the student’s sibling exhibits possible COVID-19 symptoms: if your student without symptoms is vaccinated and remains asymptomatic, they may remain in school. If your student’s vaccination status is not documented in their file, we will assume they are not vaccinated and follow the IDPH COVID-19 Protocol accordingly.

If your student has completed their COVID-19 vaccination, please email a copy of the card to the School Nurse or upload the vaccination into Skyward using the instructions below.

If you are having trouble uploading to Skyward, email a picture of the card to the school nurse.
