Benton Weekly Update

Congratulations to Benton's Football and Volleyball teams who took 1st place in the NLM Middle Schools Sport Tournament. Woo-hoo! Many thanks to Coaches Estes, Martinez, and Chartier who worked to bring our students to victory.

Benton's fall play, Silver's Secret debuted this past week. It's a great show, and you can purchase tickets online at bentonms.booktix.com . There are still seats available for Friday and Saturday night. Don't miss out, this is the final week!

Eight Benton students will have their photography on display at the Arts Colony of La Mirada's Mirrors of Your Mind art show. The “Mirrors of Your Mind” Art Show is open to all artists, from adults to middle school and high school students. The artwork will be on display from November 18th to November 22nd at the La Mirada Activity Center. The Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This week, we look forward to welcoming La Mirada's 5th Grade students on our campus to preview what middle school is like at Benton. Our Dance, Cheer, Band, Orchestra, Guitar, Chorus, Drama, and Leadership students will be showcasing their talents and our Visual Arts students will have their work on display in the classrooms and Art Gallery. Benton is great school and we are proud to showcase the creativity, talent, and skills of our students.

Open Enrollment is coming up in December, and our Showcase for new and prospective students will be on Wednesday, November 20th from 5:30-7:30pm. Families can tour the Benton campus, speak with our teachers, and attend a presentation by Ms. Ridgeway on Benton's programs and what makes Benton great. We appreciate the opportunity to share our unique programs with prospective families and students. Please spread the word if you have friends looking for a great middle school for next year! Please feel free to forward our flyer linked below.

We have Thanksgiving Break coming up next week, there will be no school Monday through Friday. This is my favorite holiday and I always appreciate the opportunity to get together with my family and loved ones and reflect on all that we are thankful for. I hope that you and your loved ones, your family and friends, have a restful and wonderful Thanksgiving.

Make it a great week!

Students will attend periods 1A – 4A on Wednesday. This Wednesday, like all Wednesdays, we have early dismissal at 1:45pm.
