Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student growth and balance both in and out of the classroom.
Warm regards,
AP Jamerson
Please Give Thanks to our Teachers! 🎉
Caregiver/Teacher Conferences were on October 14 (virtual) and October 17 (in-person).
Our staff shouts, THANK YOU!!! for providing many easy grab-and-go dinners for conferences.
There's still time to support! We spent about $8–$10 per teacher each evening. Monetary contributions are greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent via Venmo to Emily Begel @Emily-Begel.
Thank you so much for helping us take care of our amazing teachers!
Shorewood High School Drama Presents - The Addams Family
SHOREWOOD DRAMA is thrilled to announce our 2025-2026 season! First up, and just in time for Halloween, we will present The Addams Family! It follows the adventures and mis-adventures of the eponymous family, as they come into contact with the Beinekes, a decidedly more conventional family. This opens them up to the wider, slightly less peculiar world in ways that are at once hilarious and poignant. Addams Family is a fun, silly, swinging, surprisingly heart-felt, and family-friendly homage to...well, families, strange and otherwise!
ADDAMS FAMILY runs October 23rd-25th @ 7PM, and October 25th @ 2PM. Tickets are $5 for Students & Seniors, $20 for Adults and can be purchased through the link below! Don't miss out on this spooky-silly send-up of the legendary Addams Family!
Attention Juniors & Seniors
If you are interested in taking a college course at either UW-Milwaukee through the Early College Credit Program (or another college) or Milwaukee Area Technical College through the Start College Now program, please see your counselor before October 1. You can pick up the application, and we can discuss all of the ins and outs of the process. October 1st is a strict deadline. You cannot turn in applications after this date.
Please stop in with any questions.

AP Classes - AP Testing
Juniors and Seniors:
If you are NOT in an AP class, please disregard this information. If you are in an AP class, please keep reading.
At this point, you have ideally created (or gotten into) your AP account and joined various AP classes. Once you join a class, you have access to AP classroom, and you are automatically registered to take an AP test in May. If you decide to not take an AP test, just email me, and I can get you removed from taking the test.
You will also need to pay for each test by Friday, October 31st, 2025. The cost for each test is $105. You can pay at this website (everyone must sign up, even if you qualify for free and reduced lunch):
https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/502112
Should you not pay on the 31st, you will be charged a $40 late fee (per test) for any test you want to take after the deadline has passed (i.e. each test would cost $145). In addition, should you drop a test after the 31st, you would be assigned a $40 cancellation fee.
For all the ins and outs of AP testing and payment registration, please review this handout. See Mr. Brown with any questions.
SENIORS - 2026
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is projected to open on October 1, 2025. Many schools require that you and your caregivers fill this out soon after the 1st. Caregivers and you will enter in your income from the previous year, which will determine what kind of federal aid you can receive for college--in the form of work study, loans, or grants.
See this blog for some interesting updates:
For those interested in UW-Madison--new this year, you will need to fill out the CSS profile (only once, whereas FAFSA you fill out every year). I've linked that below as well:
https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/
Our next college workshop will be Wednesday, October 1 at lunch in the LMC South. Hope to see many of you in attendance.
PLEASE! LOCK UP YOUR BIKES!
Anytime you ride your bike to school, please take the time to LOCK. IT. UP. We want to make sure your bike makes it home with you. So please, lock it up!
YEARBOOK - COPPERDOME
Have you ordered your issue of the Copperdome (yearbook) yet? Are you a Senior and not sure how to get your Senior photo into the yearbook? Our Copperdome staff has all of that information in this document for your reference. Should you have any questions, please send an email to SHS Yearbook at yearbook@shorewood.k12.wi.us.

Shorewood Connects Fall Yard Cleanup 2025
Please join us for Shorewood's 18th Annual Fall Yard Clean Up. The event will take place on Saturday, November 1, from 9am-12pm. It is a great way to give back to the Shorewood community by assisting with light yard work for elderly or disabled neighbors. Sign up alone, with your family, with your neighbors or with friends.
No job takes more than 3 hours. Added perks include a donut, a free t-shirt and a Culver’s coupon. It's also a great opportunity for National Honor Society students to earn volunteer hours.
Sign up here. Reach out to Becca Pipkorn at Shorewoodcleansup@gmail.com with any questions

COMMUNITY NEWS
Community Panel Discussion
The Shorewood Community Network Facebook group, in collaboration with community partners is launching a Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign in light of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Throughout the month of October, we will be sharing resources and social media content that we hope you can help amplify in whatever ways work best for you—whether through social channels, your private networks or community spaces. Our collective voices can make a real difference in ensuring that Shorewood residents know where to turn for help and how to support one another.
In addition, we will be hosting a Community Panel Discussion on Wednesday, October 22 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Shorewood PD’s community room (4057 N. Wilson Drive), featuring panelists from the Village, School District, Police Department and Sojourner Family Peace Center. Please see this flyer. This will be an important opportunity for community members to hear directly from leaders, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of domestic violence and the resources available. Please promote in your networks.
We deeply value your participation and hope you’ll join us in this effort to raise awareness, share resources, and work together to build an informed and supportive community around domestic violence.
