Coyote Connection
Weekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 10/10/2025
Dear Reidy Creek Families,
I hope everyone had a successful parent/teacher conference this week and had the opportunity to check in with your child’s teacher about how he/she is performing academically and socially, as well as hear about their goals for the remainder of the year. We all know that education is a partnership between teachers and families, and we are extremely appreciative of all of your support at home. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to our teachers, who spent countless hours preparing assessment data and planning for conferences.
Bubble Run Update
I am excited to share that we’re already halfway to our school-wide goal of $55,000. On Monday, we will have our first school-wide prize, where students will get to watch many of our teachers compete in a water-balloon dodgeball game. Classes that have already raised $750 will also receive ice cream. With one week left, we are still hoping to raise $20,000 for Reidy Creek! Every single dollar raised stays right here at our school and directly supports our students.
Last year, the money raised from the Bubble Run was used to benefit all students. We purchased new recess equipment for active play, updated academic resources for classrooms, and bought new incentives for our Coyote student store and positive behavior supports. We were also able to provide students with memorable field trips and special on-campus experiences.
These are the extras that truly make a difference for students and help create a positive, engaging school environment. None of this would be possible without your generosity, and I know that together, we can reach our goal!
Here is the website to donate.
Have a great weekend!

Upcoming Events
We do have several exciting events coming up at the end of this month.
- Our Boo Bash will be held on Friday, October 24th from 5pm-7pm. This event will feature games, crafts, food, live music from DJ Grizz, a jump house, and, of course, candy. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help at this event. We are still looking for a few more volunteers to run games and assist with cleanup. If you are interested in helping, please fill out this volunteer form so we can finalize the schedule. Also, in order to make this event a success, we need lots of candy! If you are unable to volunteer your time, please consider donating a bag of candy for the games and activities. Please turn in all bags of candy to the front office.
- Save the Date for our school Halloween Parade! This event will be on Friday, October 31st, at 8:30. Students will have the opportunity to come to school in their costumes and parade around the blacktop with their class. Parents are welcome to join in on the fun. More information will be sent home in the next few weeks.

If you have any difficulty accessing the results, please contact our front office.
EXPLORE Dismissal
As I've mentioned before, we have over 400 students participating in one of our EXPLORE after-school classes. While dismissal is getting smoother each week, we need your help in a few areas:
- Please use the crosswalk when walking to and from the parking lot.
- Please do not park on the curb in the bus loop, as it obstructs the flow of traffic. If you are picking up your child from the YMCA, please park in the light and walk in.
- Please follow the guidance of the staff members who are outside. They are working hard to keep traffic moving and get all students into their cars safely.
Spirit Wear: Now Available!
Our new Spirit Wear website is now live, featuring new shirt designs and colors! A huge thank you to one of our parents, Michele Le, for getting this up and running for us. On the order form, click on the picture of the shirt to see all the other designs and colors that are offered. Shirts will be delivered to your child's classroom.
Orders can be placed through this link, or by scanning the QR code.
GATE Testing
The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in front office.
Forms should be returned to the school by Friday, October 17. Our school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website, or stop by the office.
