Happy May! 🌞 This month is packed with exciting events and opportunities, including Teacher Appreciation Week, EOY Testing, Field Day, Sparkler Tryouts, Talent Show Performances, End-of-Year Award Ceremonies, and much more!

📌 Attendance Reminder:
Our school day begins promptly at 7:50 AM, and consistent attendance is key to student success—every day counts!
To support timely arrivals:

• Parents/guardians dropping off students after 7:50 AM will receive a Parent Tardy—a friendly reminder of our start time.

• Students arriving at 8:05 AM or later must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.

We appreciate your partnership in helping create a smooth, on-time start to the day for all students. Details about this month’s exciting events are included below. Thank you for being a valued part of our Roadrunner community! ✨

This recruitment fair is open to all rising 5th – 12th grade students to come explore our CCISD Fine Arts programs and enjoy live performances from our talented CCISD students on Saturday, May 3rd from 3:00 – 5:00 at the Carroll High School Arena.

We are excited to invite you to join us in celebrating the hard work, growth, and achievements of our incredible students at the upcoming Smith Elementary Awards Ceremony!

📅 Dates & 🕘 Time:

May 20th - PreK @ 8:30 AM | 1st Grade @ 9:30 AM | 4th Grade @ 1:30 PM

May 22nd - 2nd Grade @ 8:30 AM | 3rd Grade @ 9:30 AM | 5th Grade @ 1:30 PM

May 23rd - Kinder Graduation @ 1:30 PM

📍 Location: Smith Elementary Cafeteria

This special event honors students for their academic progress, leadership, character, and more. Letters will be sent home indicating what your child has qualified to receive during the month of May. Your support and presence make these moments even more meaningful for our students, and we would love to have you there to cheer them on!

To ensure that all scholars have the opportunity for their families to see them shine, we kindly ask that invitations be limited to immediate family only. Thank you for your understanding and support.

We are thrilled to announce that Smith Elementary will be offering childcare for CCISD employees! Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open.

If you need childcare for a child between 6 weeks and 3 years old (turning 3 after September 1st), please complete the application and select your preferred location.

We’re excited to support our CCISD families with this opportunity!

Roadrunner Reports Folders will be sent home every Thursday.

Inside, you will find:

• Important campus/district information
• A grade level newsletter
• Students' progress trackers
• Additional communication pieces

Please return these folders the following day, every Friday.
