Summer Temperatures and HVAC Summer Temperatures and HVAC

The current extreme temperatures are pushing the school's air-conditioning systems to their limits. While many of our systems are new and under warranty, even properly functioning units may struggle during prolonged periods of high heat.

Recent disruptions at Upper Campus have been minimal and resolved quickly. At Lower Campus, the recent HVAC issue was isolated to one building and was resolved yesterday. If a unit stops working, we will immediately contact our HVAC provider, monitor indoor temperatures, provide fans, and relocate students to another air-conditioned space when possible. We will keep affected families informed of any significant disruptions.

Student and staff safety will continue to guide our decisions, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

CREST In Action CREST In Action

During our first few weeks, we've seen some incredible things happening with CREST in Action. We began with C for Community, because building community is the foundation for everything we do. Teachers and staff members have been building relationships with scholars, establishing clear expectations, creating welcoming spaces, and making sure students know that their classrooms and all spaces across our campus are places where they can feel comfortable, connected, and ready to learn.

In Sra. Tarazona's 2nd grade class, students wrote a sentence explaining what community means to them and created a drawing to represent their ideas.

Before-care grace period ending soon

GLOBE has been allowing students to attend the Before Care program without registration and fee payment while we implement the new financial assistance process to make sure things are running smoothly. The process is now operating successfully and therefore the grace period for attending Before Care, while we await registration and/or requests for financial assistance, will end on September 4, 2026.

Starting on September 8, all students must be registered and have paid the appropriate fee in order to participate in Before Care. Please click HERE to apply for financial assistance.

If you have already applied for financial assistance, keep a look out for emails from Denise Clayton-Purvis, GLOBE's CFO, at cfo@theglobeacademy.net. You will receive follow-up requests for documentation and your approval notification from this email address.

New Parent Coffee Talk

It was great to see so many new GLOBE families at this-morning's coffee talk!

LEGO bricks everywhere, and hands-on robotics is taking over!

The LEGO Lords have teamed up with The GLOBE Academy, and are thrilled to announce that they have officially secured a STEM grant from the Burns & McDonnell Foundation. What does this mean? It means LEGO bricks everywhere, and hands-on robotics is taking over!

Thanks to this funding, GLOBE has purchased a full classroom pack of LEGO robotics kits, giving all the technology classes at Lower Campus the chance to build and code actual robots. The grant also provided funding for four extra robotics kits, which means we are officially launching two after-school FIRST LEGO League Future Edition teams - one for grades 2-3 and one for grades 4-5. Thank you to the Burns & McDonnell Foundation for helping us bring STEM to life.

We're looking for parent coach volunteers (no experience necessary) and any GLOBE students that are interested in joining a team. Please fill out the interest form to receive more details on how your young LEGO master can get involved.

The LEGO Lords were interviewed and featured in an article in InTucker's August Back to School issue which you can read here.

LC Carpool

Morning Arrival

A reminder that the LC carpool line now closes promptly at 8:00am. Any car not already in the parking lot at 8:00am will need to park, then walk with their student(s) to the Front Office to sign in tardy.

Third, Fourth, Fifth Grade Gate

Cars that are NOT picking up a kindergarten, first, or second grade student may use the shorter car line. However, to do so, the car MUST display the “short” carpool tag. If you are ONLY picking up a third, fourth, and/or fifth grade student and currently DO NOT have a short tag issued to you, please CLICK HERE to fill out a form. Two "short" tags will then be generated and sent home in your oldest child’s backpack.

We are so excited to get started! Download the flyer here.
Please email Mr. Tim with any questions or concerns.

The GLOBE Academy Civics Club

We are thrilled to offer Civics Club for the third year.

This club offers middle schools (grades 6–8) an opportunity to learn about international relations and participate in a three day model United Nations simulation in Atlanta.

Last year, we had many more students interested in participating than we had available spots. As a result, this year students who would like to participate will need to complete an application consisting of a short interest form and teacher recommendation (current or former teacher).

If your student is interested, please download this flyer for more information about the club and the application process. The application deadline is September 18.
