The Board Bulletin is published monthly following the voting meeting of the Board and is for informational purposes to keep the West York Area School District Community informed of Board happenings and is not intended as an official record of meetings. Call to Order

• President Rice called the meeting to order.

Roll Call and Opening

• A roll call of Directors was conducted, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes

• The minutes from the September 9, 2025, Work Session were approved.

Educational Report

• Mr. Brandon Fuhrman, Athletic Director, shared a fall cocurricular preview.

Student Council Report

• Miss Sadie Pacifico, High School Student Council Social Media/Community Outreach Chair, shared updates from High School Student Council.

Superintendent's Report

• Dr. Davies shared information from the District including the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Fundraiser, the High School National Honor Society Induction, and that High School Life Skills teacher, Ms. Amanda Burt, has been selected as one of WGAL's 8 Who Care award recipients.

The Board approved several personnel actions, including:

• New hires, resignations, volunteers, cocurricular positions, transfers, etc.

• Dr. Davies welcome Ms. Jessica Doellinger (pictured above with Dr. Davies and Board President Rice) as the Director of Sponsorship Development and Communications.

Financial Statements

• Monthly financial statements were reviewed and approved.

Informational Reports

• The Facility Rentals Report, Enrollment Report, and Conference Report were shared.

Adjournment

• President Rice announced that there would be an executive session following the meeting to discuss legal issues, and he then adjourned the meeting.

Personnel

• New hires, resignations, transfers, and volunteers were presented to the Board in executive content for approval at the September 16th Board Meeting.

Committee Reports

Internal Committees

Budget & Finance – Director Gettys

• The auditors are in the District this week

• 2026-27 Budget meetings will begin in November

Cocurricular – Director Rice

• Next meeting will be September 16th

CEC – Director Shope - not present

• Next meeting will be October 21st

Educational Programming – Vice President Hamme

• President Hamme recapped the meeting held prior to the Work Session

• Next meeting will be November 11th

Facilities – President Rice

• Next meeting will be September 16th, in conjunction with the Cocurricular Meeting

• Minutes from the August 19th meeting were shared

Foundation – Director Dugan

• The Foundation will be contributing $10K to the Director of Sponsorship Development and Communications salary

• They are also discussing participating in Trunk or Treat

• Next meeting October 7th

Wellness – Director Dugan

• Next meeting will be September 25th

External Committees

West Manchester Township Recreation – Director Herman

• Director Herman shared several upcoming events for the community and encouraged everyone to visit the website for more details. Information was also shared about the Sunset Lane park restroom closure during the winter due to freezing pipes and safety issues.

• Director Herman also reported that Brandon Furhman, our AD, is in communication with the Township regarding softball field use, and that the Township is in favor of working with us

York County School of Technology (YCST) – Director Harlacher

• Director Gettys reported at length about recently meeting with YCST leadership about programming and how that impacts West York students. The discussion can be viewed on the District YouTube Channel by selecting the September 9, 2025, Work Session recording.

• No meeting

• President Rice shared that a meeting was held on August 26, 2025, and that they are looking at different options for student information system software.

• He also indicated that they are currently working on catching up on audits.

• The next meeting will be September 30th.

York/LIU Joint Authority & LIU Board – Treasurer Gettys

• There will be a presentation to the Joint Authority later this month regarding potential expansion options.

• There continues to be developments from the LIU Board on delivery of LIU services.

President Rice adjourned the meeting.
