Message from the Principal
Hello Chloe Clark Families,
As we head into summer break with its longer days and more flexible schedules, it’s the perfect time to be intentional about how our kids spend their screen time. While technology can be an amazing tool, we know it can also become a bit too much of a good thing! We encourage you to take a few moments to set some healthy limits around social media and device use this summer. A fantastic resource for families is Common Sense Media. It offers clear, up-to-date information on everything from social media trends to age-appropriate games, movies, and apps. It’s like having a tech-savvy friend who always knows what your kids are watching—and whether you should be concerned or just confused!
Looking for a fun, free way to sneak in some learning this summer? Check out FitMoney’s $uperSquad, an engaging platform for K–5 students that teaches financial literacy through games and stories. It's a great way for our youngest learners to build smart money habits early on.
Don't forget to check out Best Book Recommendations book list for some new topics for your summer reading pleasure.
Here’s to a summer full of sunshine, growth, and maybe just a little less screen time.
Warmly,
Loretta Duncan
Principal, Chloe Clark Elementary

Counselor's Corner
Dear Families,
As the school year comes to a close, many of our children are preparing for an important transition: moving up to the next grade. For some, this may also mean moving to a new home or school and saying goodbye to friends and teachers. This time can be both exciting and a little nerve-wracking for students.
This week, our lesson focused on exploring the feelings and questions that often come with these transitions. We discussed both the positive and uncomfortable emotions related to the end of this school year and the beginning of the next. Students had the opportunity to share their thoughts, say goodbyes, and express their feelings—especially if they are moving.
As parents, you can continue this conversation at home. Here are a few tips to support your child during this transition:
-
Encourage Open Dialogue: Ask your child how they’re feeling about the upcoming school year. Validate their emotions and reassure them that it’s okay to feel nervous or uncertain.
-
Share Your Experiences: Talk about your own experiences with change and transitions. Personal stories can help your child feel understood and less alone.
-
Celebrate the Transition: Do something special to mark the end of the school year and the start of a new one. Creating a ritual or celebration can help provide a sense of closure and excitement for what’s ahead.
-
Stay Positive: Emphasize the exciting aspects of moving up a grade. Highlight new opportunities, friendships, and experiences that await them.
During my last counseling lesson, I also shared with our students, that this will be my last year at Chloe Clark. It has truly been a joy to be part of this school community. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to support your children, watch them grow, and be a part of their journey. Chloe Clark is a very special place, filled with extraordinary people, and I will miss you all dearly. Thank you for welcoming me into your school family. I wish you and your children all the best in the upcoming school year.
Warmly,
Mrs. C
