Kindergarten Families

The State of Iowa requires all Kindergarten students to have a dental screening certificate on file.

In the coming month, ICCSD nurses will be offering free dental screenings to students who have not yet submitted a completed certificate. This screening is a simple visual check of the mouth using a flashlight and gloves. Please note that this is not a substitute for a full dental examination by a dentist, which is recommended for all children at least annually.

If any concerns are noted during the screening, you will be contacted and encouraged to follow up with a dental care provider. Assistance in obtaining dental care is available if needed.

If you do not wish for your child to participate in this screening, please contact the school.

Thank you,

Jess Havlicek-Epps
