💙 Don't forget to list custodial needs in the log book located in the lounge. Work order items still go to the office.

💛 Consider how you will communicate progress and next steps on the next report card. Start now to reduce stress. A few comments each night will help you not to feel overwhelmed. Our families cherish and welcome our partnership.

💙 Thank you to our 2nd-grade teachers for attending our PTO meeting last week and allowing us to use Mrs. Laukus' room on short notice. The PTO loved hearing about all of the second-grade events and how you were spending your PTO funds.

💛 Thank you to Mallory and Leath Ann, who are working to create amazing sub folders for us to hand out to subs as they enter our building. See the information below for specifics on these sub folders.

💙 Melaina has coined the phrase "Feelings February" to represent this month! When your frustration builds because students are exhibiting strong feelings, keep in mind that behavior is communication. Taking a few minutes to talk to our students and determine the cause of the behavior will help to eliminate the behavior and save valuable learning time down the road.

Substitute Binders

As substitute teachers enter our building, we want them to feel welcome, supported, and ready for the day. To create this atmosphere, substitutes will receive their binders in the office upon arrival. These sub binders will include a welcome letter, a map of the building, attendance forms, lunch count forms, emergency directions for all drills/emergencies, medical/allergy alerts, and an end-of-the-day feedback form (all created in by Mallory and Leath Ann!) We will be asking you to include a summary sheet that describes helpful students, routines, behavior concerns/behavior plans, and anything else you find necessary. All of this should already be in your sub folder. Additionally, please include an emergency plan for the day. As we know, emergencies arise, and being prepared helps our students and teammates go about their normal routines. We have had a number of emergencies this year that have left teammates scrambling and subs feeling ill-prepared for the day. If you have these items already, please bring them to the office. If your current sub folder does not contain them, please work on those two items once you get through conferences.

All evening activities will be organized through our PTO! Please try to show your support for our PTO by making an appearance at the event. It will be a lot of fun for our students, and they would love to see you there.
