Safe Schools
As a school district, we want all families to know that we remain committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming learning environment. We are prepared to meet the needs of each of our students and to provide support to our families. We want students and families to experience ease of access, broad opportunities and high achievement in our schools. All are welcome in Mounds View Public Schools.
Immigration Information
It’s important to know, in accordance with the law, our enrollment processes cannot ask for, and we cannot maintain, records regarding any family member’s immigration status. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, personal information about any student and their family is protected and cannot be shared without parental consent. In addition, if anyone comes to our schools attempting to access students, they will not be given access to individuals without parent or guardian consent.

Let's Talk About It: Finding Time to Talk
Children often simply hear, "Don't do drugs, or else!" from their caregivers without a deeper conversation around why or how they can be dangerous. With the holiday break coming up, this would be a great time to have an open and honest discussion with your child about substance abuse. Read more about why these conversations are important in the Student Support Team's blog, Let's Talk About It.
REMINDERS
Winter Weather Reminders
As we move into the winter months, here are a few reminders about what to expect during inclement weather.
Chromebook Best Practices Tip
- Charge your Chromebook at home in the evening.
- Bring your fully charged Chromebook to school each morning.
- A fully charged Chromebook should last the entire school day on a single charge.
Keep your chargers at home.
- Bringing your charger to school puts it at risk of being lost or stolen.
- Leave your charger safe at home where you can use it to charge your Chromebook every night.
Never leave your Chromebook unattended in classrooms or anywhere at school.
- This includes leaving Chromebooks in a classroom overnight.
Don’t let others use your Chromebook.
- Every student is issued their own Chromebook – and there are loaner Chromebooks in each classroom for extenuating circumstances – so there should be no need for anyone to borrow your Chromebook.
