"Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!" "Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!"

Dear Families,

We can’t believe it’s already April, and we have only two full months left in the school year! While the weather is getting nicer and summer is quickly approaching, there is still a great deal of learning happening in our building each day.

Attendance remains extremely important to ensure your child has every opportunity to learn and grow in the classroom. Our goal each year is for students to have fewer than 10 absences. We allow up to 10 parent-excused absences per school year; after that, a medical note will be required. As a best practice, we encourage families to provide a doctor’s note whenever your child is absent for a medical reason.

Students in grades 3-5 will be participating in the Wisconsin Forward Exam during the testing starting April 7. State assessments, including the Forward Exam, are required by both Wisconsin State Law (Wis. Stat. § 118.30) and the Federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Our school is scheduled to administer the exam during this period. All testing will be done in the morning since we find students are more able to focus. Please try to schedule appointments around the testing if possible.

The Forward Exam assesses students in the following areas:

  • Grades 3-5: English Language Arts (ELA) and Math

  • Grade 4 only: Science and Social Studies

No Pets on School Property

Just a friendly reminder that, for everyone’s safety and comfort, pets should not be brought onto school grounds or into school buildings. We love our furry friends, but we ask that they stay at home during school hours, arrival, dismissal and events. Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe and welcoming place for all! (Board Policy PO8390)

Construction Update:

Over spring break, we began several small construction projects to help ensure a smooth transition into summer work. New doors were installed throughout the building to provide a safer and more secure environment. Additionally, the gym bleachers were removed in preparation for upcoming renovations that will take place over the summer.

Important Update:
Starting May 5, our current playground and the north parking lot near the church will begin the demolition process. During this time, recess will be relocated to the south side of the building, near the gym.

Below, you will see the new playground that will be installed over the summer. Beginning next school year, students will enjoy this updated space on the south side of the building.

We are incredibly grateful to our PTO for their dedication in securing the funding for this new playground. Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported our fundraisers over the years—your generosity has made this possible for the students of Westfield Elementary.

Westfield Elementary Art Show on March 27

Ms. Parsneau, the art teacher, along with Ms. Francis, Mrs. Wagner, Mrs. Wollert, Mrs. Thays, Ms. Wood, Mr. Schueler, and the PTO, put on an amazing event!

Families had the opportunity to view over 700 art pieces, bid on unique classroom platter projects, decorate a collaborative wall canvas, and enjoy baked goods and snacks.

The school also hosted a 50/50 raffle to support the playground. Hannah Malson was the winner, with a total of $125 raised—half awarded to her and half going toward the playground fund.

Thank you to all the families who attended and supported this special event. We’re already looking forward to doing it again next year!
