Scooter Storage
Heritage Families, we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of scooters coming to school this year! While we love that students are using them, the volume has made it impossible to store scooters safely inside our building.
Starting Monday, September 8th, all scooters must be stored outside at the designated bike racks. Following the lead of Mountain Ridge Middle School and Mountain Vista High School, we’re making this change to ensure everyone’s safety.
Please take this weekend to purchase a lock for your child’s scooter and practice locking/unlocking it. The racks are located within view of our security cameras, but a lock will give added security.

Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is BACK!
Calling all 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who love to read and enjoy a bit of competition! We will read a ton of great books and learn to work together as a team along the way.
Our informational parent meeting is on Wednesday, September 17th at 5:30 p.m. in the Heritage library. Please join us! This meeting is for ALL families who have participated previously or are new to the activity. Battlers (students) are not required to attend this meeting. If your child is interested, but you cannot make the parent meeting, please email Melissa Crooks at melissamcrooks@gmail.com.
The book lists are out now! Let's get reading today! Check out the books here. All local Douglas County libraries will have multiple copies available to check out/put on hold. Don't forget to ask about the "Your Lucky Day" section in the children's area of your nearest local library.

Donuts with Your Dude TOMORROW
Calling all Dads, Stepdads, Uncles, Grandpas, Brothers, and other awesome dudes! Join us TOMORROW for Donuts with your Dude, Friday, September 5th from 7:45 – 8:30 am. Please join us OUTSIDE ON THE BLACKTOP/PLAYGROUND before school with your student(s) to enjoy some donuts, coffee, juice, and a fun morning with your kiddo! Please plan to stay with your child until the first school bell rings at 8:25am. Thank you for your understanding! Don’t leave empty handed…There will be several items up for drawing at our opportunity tables, too! DONATE NOW to our Fund Run
The annual Heritage Fund Run is Friday, September 19th . DONATE NOW! Set up your child’s Fundraising page on Handbid! Share this URL with friends and family all over the country! Help us meet our $30,000 goal! Please click this link to get started. Then, simply click on BECOME A FUNDRAISER.
Any student who has set up their fundraising page in Handbid by Wednesday, September 10th will be entered into a drawing to win free ice cream and pizza coupons!! The winner will be announced
during the morning announcements on September 10th.

A huge thank you to iOrthodontics for their incredible business partnership and support of the Fund Run! We are so grateful for their generous donation of sweatbands for every student to wear during the run and for sponsoring our $20,000 prize - a foam party!! We are so grateful for their support and commitment to our school community.
Parry's Pizza Night - 9/11
Ditch the dishes and head over to Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse (9567 S University Blvd) on Thursday, September 11th from 11:00am-9:00pm. Let them know that you’re with Heritage and 20% of the proceeds will come back to Heritage.
Ongoing Heritage PTO Fundraisers
Heritage Elementary participates in ongoing fundraisers such as:
- King Soopers Community Rewards Program - link your King Soopers card to Heritage Elementary School PTO and a portion of your purchase benefits our school!
- Use the Box Tops App and scan your receipt within 14 days of purchase.
- American Furniture Warehouse donates a portion of purchases when you mention Heritage Elementary.
- Anna Lamb, your local Disney and Universal Destination Vacation expert, will help you plan a magical vacation and help Heritage PTO at the same time.
- Deposit your Longmont Diary milk caps in the white bin outside the front office and Heritage PTO receives 5 cents for each milk cap through the milk caps for moolah program.

Community Events through The Foundation
The Foundation for Douglas County Schools has some great Community Events already lined up for our school community!
