NEED FOOD ASSISTANCE
FROM THE SOCIAL WORKER: If your family is experiencing food insecurity or needs support, please know that help is available. Our school has a small on-site pantry to assist with emergency food needs, and we can also connect families with local food pantries and community resources.
If your family could benefit from these supports, please reach out to Kim Downs, LCSW, School Social Worker at e11231@lps53.org. All requests are handled with care and confidentiality.
See HERE for a list of community resources and HERE for information about assistance through HyVee.
We are here to help—please don’t hesitate to reach out if your family could use some extra support.
NEED HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE?
The Liberty Education Foundation invites parents, guardians, and grandparents to gather with neighbors, educators, business leaders, and community friends at the FREE Community Impact Showcase on Thursday, October 30, at South Valley Middle School at 8:45 am! Please register in advance at http://bit.ly/4qEihUj.
As the Foundation celebrates 30 years of serving Liberty Public Schools, this high-energy morning will feature student performances, inspiring stories, a district update from Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker, and reflections on the Foundation’s past, present, and future. Plus, enjoy special snack boxes prepared by Liberty North High School Culinary Arts students. Learn more at www.libertyeducationfoundation.org/communityshowcase.

FREE FLU SHOTS FROM CHILDREN'S MERCY

BEYOND THE TANK
From Coach Perkins - I wanted to let you know about something exciting. In the gym we have a bulletin board labeled “Beyond the Tank”. I would like to fill this board up with pictures of our students being physically active outside of school. Feel free to email me the picture at matt.perkins@lps53.org and I’ll print it and post it.
Also as a reminder, please make sure your child wears tennis shoes to P.E. (no crocs or sandals). Thanks again and Go Sharks!
LUNCH VISITORS
Just a reminder that we do NOT allow outside food from a restaurant (i.e. McDonald’s, Subway, Jimmy Johns, etc.). Please bring a sack lunch from home or purchase a school lunch from your student's account for $5.
Also students may only invite 1 friend to join them at the Visitor table.
REMINDERS FROM NURSE HENRICHS
- Students must be fever free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
- Students must be free from vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours after the last episode before returning to school.
- Students need to stay home if their coughing cannot be controlled with medication.

- Please include an extra set of clothes in your student's backpack for messes or spills from the lunchroom, playground, or otherwise.
