Happy March, Owens Community!

We recently completed Benchmark assessments in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, and I could not be prouder of our students for their hard work and effort. I am also incredibly proud of our teachers and staff as we completed our first round of STAAR practice assessments. The data gathered will help us be more intentional in providing the targeted supports our students need as we prepare for state assessments.

At Owens, every grade matters, and we worked together as one team to ensure all students had the best testing environment in which to thrive. As we move forward, our focus is on targeted interventions and spiraled reviews. Each day is critical in preparing our Jackrabbits, and we know they are going to shine as they demonstrate all they have learned.

Thank you to our parents for ensuring students are at school every day and on time—every minute truly counts. Please continue to encourage your child to read daily and practice math facts at home. Together, we will help our students achieve their goals this school year.

¡Feliz mes de marzo, comunidad de Owens!

Recientemente hemos completado las evaluaciones de referencia en 3.º, 4.º y 5.º grado, y no podría estar más orgulloso del trabajo duro y el esfuerzo de nuestros estudiantes. También estoy increíblemente orgulloso de nuestros maestros y personal, ya que hemos completado nuestra primera ronda de evaluaciones prácticas para las pruebas STAAR. Los datos recopilados nos ayudarán a ser más intencionales a la hora de proporcionar el apoyo específico que nuestros estudiantes necesitan mientras nos preparamos para las evaluaciones estatales.

En Owens, todos los grados son importantes, y hemos trabajado juntos como un equipo para garantizar que todos los alumnos dispongan del mejor entorno de evaluación en el que prosperar. A medida que avanzamos, nos centramos en intervenciones específicas y revisiones en espiral. Cada día es fundamental para preparar a nuestros Jackrabbits, y sabemos que van a brillar al demostrar todo lo que han aprendido.

SEATING

Seating is limited for visitors. You may only sit

with your child at the visitor's table.

Your child's friends must remain with the teacher.

FOOD
Parents can only provide food for their personal child. Other children should eat what their parents sent them or from the cafeteria. Once lunch ends, your child should throw away what they have not eaten. Please do not send them back to class with sodas, etc.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE
Please remain in the front office until 5 minutes before your child starts lunch. This helps with congestion at the visitor table. When your child's class leaves the cafeteria, it is time for your child to rejoin his/her class. Please turn in your "visitor sticker" to the front office when you depart.

MORNING ARRIVAL;

We open our front doors at 8:20 AM. If you drop your child off before 8:20 AM, there will be no supervision. Students are allowed to enter the building at 8:20 AM ONLY IF an adult is on duty. Instruction begins at 8:45 AM. Please help us begin instruction on time by allowing your child to ride the school bus or by dropping them off in time to walk to class and be in their seat ready to learn by 8:45 AM.

Students who are car riders and walkers/bikers who arrive after 8:45 AM will be counted tardy.

Students who are tardy must be brought into the building by an adult to be signed in.

Las puertas se abren a las 8:20 AM. No habrá supervisión antes de las 8:20 AM. Los estudiantes podrán entrar al edificio a las 8:20 AM SOLAMENTE si hay un adulto supervisando. La hora de instrucción comienza a las 8:45 AM. Por favor ayúdenos a comenzar la hora de clase a tiempo trayendo su hijo(a) a tiempo en coche, autobús o caminando. Owens requires a handwritten note for any change of transportation. The note should state the student's full name, the date, the new mode of transportation, the date for the change to occur, and have the signature of the legal guardian.

There are two ways to change transportation:

1. Send a note in your student's backpack in the morning.
2. Drop off a note at the front desk.

ALL requests for transportation changes must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. to make a change for the same day. For the safety of our students, no over-the-phone changes can be accepted.

Owens requiere una nota escrita a mano para cualquier cambio en el transporte. La nota debe indicar el nombre completo del estudiante, la fecha, el nuevo medio de transporte, la fecha en que se producirá el cambio y la firma del tutor legal.

Hay dos formas de cambiar el transporte:
