Hey There Campers!
Camouflage Art
Campers! Camouflage is an important adaptation for many animals and insects! According to Webster dictionary, camouflage is the hiding or disguising of something by covering it up or changing the way it looks. This cool adaptation protects animals and insects from predators! For this art experience head outside and collect materials in your yard that an animal or insect may use to help camouflage itself from predators! Here is a list of possible options to be included for your project.
- leaves
- wood chips
- dirt
- small pebbles
- grasses
- twigs
- side of a cardboard box or a piece of construction paper
- paint
- glue
Directions
- Paint your construction paper to look like the ground outside!
- While the paint is still wet, press your materials onto the wet surface, sprinkle the dirt, press the leaves, etc.
- Take a look at the example for some additional inspiration.
- What animal or insect could use your art project to protect themselves?
