EJSHS Weekly Newsletter

Parent Teacher Conferences are Tuesday and Wednesday!
Our fall Parent Teacher Conferences are Tuesday 4:00 - 7:30 and Wednesday 4:00 - 7:00. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child's teachers, ask any questions you may have regarding assignments, missing work, grades, etc. While you are here, stop by the table in the office hallway and enter to win G&W gift cards!
The Senior Information and Financial Aid night is Tuesday beginning at 6:00 in the auditorium. If you have a senior this year, this meeting will answer many, if not all, of your questions about senior year! It is also a great time to get your financial aid questions answered and begin the FAFSA process. We will have Butler Community College financial aid personnel available to answer your questions and assist in the process. Additional information is located in this newsletter.

Attend FCCLA Conference
Eureka FCCLA officers and members attended the District H FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference in Ottawa on Wednesday. More than 250 FCCLA members attended from our area of the state. EJSHS students participated in the General Assembly meeting. Cooper Bowlin was called on stage during this time to participate in an activity and won! Workshop events included: Leadership Under Construction, Road Safety, FACTS, Elevator Speeches, and Movie Trivia. Conference attendees were also inspired by the Keynote Speaker Cira Plummer, District H FCCLA Alumni who is currently attending Pittsburg State. She gave a very thought-provoking speech about "What Comes Next". Her underlying message was to take opportunities, get out of your comfort zone, make the most of the people around you and don't stress if you don't have everything figured out. You just need to figure out what comes next. Advisors spent time mapping and planning out the remainder of the year with calendar items, Star events and opportunities to learn from each other.
Build My Future
Mrs. Noble and Mr. Denner partnered together to take 28 students to the WABA(Wichita Area Builders Association) Build my Future on Wednesday. The event was held at the Kansas Star Arena & Event Center. Students were offered hands-on interactions to explore various skilled trades. The 9th through 12th graders had the opportunity to do a diverse range of activities, from welding, trying their hand at being a lineman to using drones.
