The boys bathroom in the MPR is closed due to damage. Once reopened, staff will be notified.
AR: 3514: Environmental Safety
Staff and students are expected to help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment by avoiding items and products that may trigger allergies, asthma, or sensitivities. This includes refraining from bringing or using scented products, air fresheners, candles, perfumes, colognes, hair spray, nail products, and similar fragranced personal care items, as well as items that may collect allergens such as stuffed toys or furred/feathered animals, in classrooms, school buses, and other enclosed school areas. Annual reminders will be provided to staff and students regarding these expectations.
Recess Reminder
Starting in the 2024–25 school year, schools that provide recess are required to offer at least 30 minutes on regular school days and 15 minutes on early release days. There may be some confusion that once the 30-minute minimum is met, any additional recess time can be taken away for disciplinary purposes. However, the law clearly states that recess may not be withheld or restricted unless a student’s participation presents an immediate threat to their own safety or the safety of others.
In other words, the law not only sets minimum time requirements but also strictly limits when recess can be denied. Please review the resources below and ensure that site practices are aligned with the requirements of SB 291.
