Adams MS October 2021 Update

It is hard to believe that it is already October 1st. We want to THANK all of our parents, students and staff for their support and hard work at Adams Middle School. Without all of you, this wouldn't be possible!

With the help and support from Terri Burchell with the North Platte Schools Foundation, Great Plains Health, Mrs. Vikki Carlson and Mr. Ty Brockmoller, Adams Middle School was able to apply and receive the Developing Youth Talent Initiative Grant. This grant has allowed Adams Middle School to purchase 12 ZSpace (Virtual Reality) modules for our students. These computers will be used to help our students explore Career and Technical Education opportunities.

Jason LeVasseur, a Nashville Recording artist and acclaimed motivational speaker, spoke to the Adams Middle School students about Leadership and Character. He message was "Who is the Driver of your Car?" You can check Jason out here https://jasonlevasseur.com/

We would like to thank Mid Nebraska Coummunity Foundation and Crane River Theatre for giving us the opportunity to listen to Jason and his message.

• Average Daily Attendance: 93.48%
• Average Total Daily Behavior Referrals: 5.56

• Students Explore Classes will be replaced with new classes on student schedules. Core classes will remain the same.
• Please check the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for current grades. If there are questions, these should go directly to the teacher.
• Missing work is one of the most common reasons for lower grades. If a student is not satisfied with their grades, this is a good place to start.
• Students are allowed to redo work and retake assessments to improve their grades.
• Summative assessments are important, as they are worth 70% of the student's overall grade. When low summative grades are earned, students should work with their teachers on a study plan and scheduling a retake.

Our 7th and 8th grade students performed very well on their Fall MAP Tests. Thank you to our students, families and Admas Middle School Teachers for these efforts.

Tier I: Meeting expectations. Percentage goal for Tier I: 80% of students, or more.

Tier II: Nearing expectations. Percentage goal for Tier II: 15% of students, or less.

Tier III: Not yet meeting expectations. Percentage goal for Tier III: 5% of students, or less.

Conferences will be in-person. No appointment is required for conferences at Adams Middle School. Other schools (K-6), may ask for parents to make appointments. Please refer to these schools for specific directions.

Families unable to attend conferences are encouraged to view grades on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and contact their student's teachers for any questions or concerns.

The deadline for you to update your student information in Online Registration is Sept 30.
