MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of September 7, 2026
TNPulse
Names appearing in MTSS
The names that appear in the MTSS listing for your school have students rostered to them in PowerSchool. If you are an MTSS Lead who does not have students rostered to you in PowerSchool, you will need to access the students by locating them under other teachers such as support staff or partner teacher. Once plans are created, you are able to move the students to a group for easier management.
iReady
Personalized Instruction
Students receiving face to face intervention through RTI2A Tier 2/3 plans can spend a small portion of time over the course of the week in iReady Personalized Instruction as it does provide individualized additional practice opportunities. An example of this might be that if there is 45 minutes of allotted time per day, the face to face intervention is provided for 35 minutes and 8-10 minutes of time is for iReady Personalized Instruction.
Teachers should monitor personalized instruction for the following.
- students total time is between 30-49 minutes per week (MSCS and vendor recommendation)
- students have a 70% or better pass rate year to date
- domains have not been turned off
- review student progress to provide targeted feedback during face to face instruction
Pearson aimswebPlus
Progress Monitoring
All students with Tier 2/3 intervention plans should now have progress monitoring schedules in Pearson aimswebPlus.
- enrolled grade level progress monitoring once per month
- instructional level progress monitoring either weekly or bi-weekly
Reading Horizons
Initial School Visits Year Two Implementation
Shatamara Davis and Vickie Strampe will be visiting schools starting this week to conduct initial school visits with dyslexia specific intervention providers at the school. If the suggested time for the visit does not work for your schedule, please suggest another time that is more appropriate and they will reschedule.
Implementation Checklists
On Friday, September 4, Francine Lawson and I presented to school leaders during Principal Pulse where we reviewed the materials that schools received and provided the implementation checklists for Discovery and Elevate. Additionally, we shared some photos from last year to help visualize what might be seen during dyslexia specific intervention. A copy of the 30 minute segment along with the checklists have been added to the Reading Horizons folder in On Target for Success SharePoint if you'd like to review.
Initial Training This Week
Reading Horizons Initial Training information was sent to individual schools who have not been previously trained (i.e. person trained is no longer at that location, new MTSS Lead) and where there are high numbers of ILPDs to add an additional provider. Thank you to Treadwell Middle School for hosting these initial training sessions this week!
