MHE Parent Newsletter
November 2024 Second Edition
Message From the Principals
Hello MHE Families,
We hope everyone had a fantastic week! As a reminder, students will continue to go outside for recess throughout the winter as long as it is not below 25 degrees. Please make sure to check the forecast and have your child dress appropriately. Also, as you send them to school with jackets and coats, please make sure that they are returning home with their belongings. Our lost and found is currently busting at the seams! If you are missing anything please email your student's teacher and we will assist them in looking through what we have. Please be sure to review the information below and feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Rischmann & Mr. Whitaker

News from the MHE PTA
- Being a part of the PTA helps you receive insight into things happening at MHE and allows you to provide input to see positive changes at the school. An added bonus is meeting new people and gaining lifelong friends! Meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 5:30pm in the MHE staff lounge. We hope to see you there!
The PTA has a few upcoming events if you are interested in getting involved: Reflections Art Program and Light up MHE Holiday Event. Email pta4MHE@gmail.com if you’d like to get involved!
- Help support the school all year long by signing up for the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Log onto https://www.kroger.com/i/community/community-rewards, link your card to Monfort Height Elementary PTA & shop as you normally would! Kroger donates a portion of your sales back to the PTA.
Every child is an artist
Encourage your Musketeer to showcase their artistic abilities by participating in the PTA Reflections Arts Program and creating an original work of art! This amazing program increases community awareness on the importance of arts in education. The theme for 2024-2025 is "Accepting Imperfection".
As an extra incentive every MHE student who submits an entry will be rewarded 10 PBIS points!
Reflections encourages students of all ages to:
-Unleash creative talents and be inspired
-Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
-Experience the fun and joy of making art
-Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
-Receive positive recognition for their original works of art
This would be a great project over the holiday break!
Attached below is the Reflections at a Glance information sheet and student entry form.

MHE Wee Mail
Dear Parents,
Monfort Heights Elementary is pleased to announce the continuation of our "Wee Deliver" mail service. This allows you to send your child a letter, a note of praise, or perhaps a card for a special occasion while they are at school. Children LOVE to get mail! All you have to do is drop off the mail in the main office with the proper address. Click the link below to find the Wee Deliver Mailing Directory to use for addressing your letter and a sample of how to address the letter for your child. A sticker will suffice for your stamp, or you can draw your own. Our fifth grade postal workers will sort and deliver the mail at 3:00 pm daily. Your note or card will really brighten your child's day!
