Stinson M.S. Principal's Corner
October 2026
Message from the Principal
Dear Skyhawk Families,
Happy Fall! Hopefully the cooler temperatures and recent rains are a signal that we are past our 100+degree summer weather. Let's embrace the fall season and all the school events headed our way.
If you have been on campus lately, I hope you have seen how the front of our school is taking shape! We are truly looking forward to opening our front offices before the Christmas break...maybe even the Thanksgiving break (fingers crossed). Thank you ALL for your continued support and flexibility as we journeyed through this last segment of the our campus renovation project. I am confident you will all be very impressed with the renovations.
With the beginning of October comes the end of the first grading cycle which officially ends on October 8. Please review your child's grades on HAC and contact your child's teachers with any questions about grades. In addition, this October, NISD has a fall break scheduled from October 9 - October 13. We hope everyone enjoys this additional break, and we look forward to seeing all students on October 14.
We hope to see many of you at our Magnet Ribbon Cutting and PTA Community Vendor Day on October 17, from 8:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. In addition, we have scheduled a Blood Drive on October 17th, from 9 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The Community Vendor event will be held on our front parking lot. You may park across the street from the school or at our auxiliary parking lots.
**Due to campus and district events, the October 17th football game has been moved to Brandies.
Keep enjoying the fall weather and keep reading this newsletter for upcoming events, including the 6th and 7th grade dances and 6th Grade Counselor Parent Information Meetings on October 14.

Delivery of Items - Procedure for 2026-2027
Deliveries of any kind will not be accepted on the campus. This includes, but is not limited to food, flowers, or balloons. These and any other type of delivery are a safety and security concern and will not be permitted on the campus.
AWAY FOR THE DAY POLICY
In accordance with HB 1481, students will be required to put away all phones, iPads, and gaming units when they are on campus at all times after the 8:30 a.m. bell and until the bell rings at 3:55 p.m. Electronic devices interfere with the focus of learning. This will be a shift in practices, but the distractions of social media, texting, and playing games need to be removed from campus.
House Bill 1481 takes effect this school year and requires all Texas school districts to prohibit students from using "personal wireless communication devices," which the law defines as “any wireless electronic communication device, other than a device provided to students by a school for instructional purposes, capable of transmitting and/or receiving data.”

Want to create a Parent Schoology Account?
The District utilizes two robust Learning Management Systems (LMS) that provide a connection between teachers, students, and parents.
Seesaw is used for students in grades PK-1 and Schoology is used for students in grades 2-12. With a Seesaw or Schoology parent account, you can access some of your child’s course assignments and grades, have direct messaging access to assigned teachers, and more. If you don’t already have a parent account, you can create one.
Here are the directions to create a Schoology Parent account.
