Why the book should be adopted

This book should be adapted because it is about a powerful woman who has done so much for this Country and the world. A woman who grew up on the South Side of Chicago who accomplished so much and is an amazing role model to everyone. A women who never gave up what she believed in, even when she was told it wouldn't happen. It doesn't really touch on specific women's issues but it does touch a little on segregation issues.

“A deeply informed portrait of the first lady and her native Chicago. . . . Her larger story, told so powerfully in Slevin’s biography, suggests she will forever be a force with which to be reckoned.”
