The 4th grade Student Council is back!!! Mrs. Domina has been collecting student applications. Be on the lookout for their first service project next month - THE MAYFLOWER MARATHON! Our student council will be given several leadership opportunities throughout the year and have a voice in some school improvement projects!
It's not too late to open an account with Westfield Bank to have your child participate in their Ready, Set, Grow program. Simply fill out this account application and send it in with at least $1.00. Westfield Bank representatives are at Phelps every Thursday morning! It has been great to see so many students lined up to make their deposits each week!
Each month, staff at Phelps nominate a colleague who has gone above and beyond to receive the Crystal Apple Award. The staff Crystal Apple Award for the month of September is Miss Pellegrino!!!
Miss Pellegrino has been a breath of fresh air at Phelps! As a brand new staff member to Phelps, she jumped right in to meet with staff and schedule students immediately. Her energy and positivity are infectious and she has already made positive connections with students. We appreciate her willingness to jump right in to fill the role of speech pathologist.
Welcome to Phelps, Miss Pellegrino! We’re thrilled you’re here!
On Friday, October 20, all students at Phelps got together to see a captivating performer who took them on a 45-minute journey filled with humor, yo-yo and magic tricks, puppetry, and storytelling!
The assembly introduced a cartoon boy named NED who is on a very important mission: to find his mindset. Led by clues and memorable characters, he overcomes Mt. Everest’s toughest obstacles, uncovers inner-treasures on a Caribbean island, and grows his brain while repairing a sputtering spaceship. Throughout the performance, students discovered how to activate their growth mindset to overcome social, emotional and academic challenges.
